Dialogue[edit]

When you approach at the camp before starting the quest, he will sarcastically say "Welcome to the arse-end of nowhere."

Speaking to him:

"An adventurer, from the looks of you. Live by the sword and die by it, as they say.
What brings you to our humble camp?"
I'm looking for work.
"I might have something that will interest you. We captured a Red Rook messenger prowling around our camp.
We think he was going to a Red Rooks and Bloodthorns meeting. Rumor is they're forming an alliance, but we can't get the messenger to talk."
Want me to talk to him?
"Might as well give it a shot. He's been telling us a sad story about his kidnapped family, but I don't believe a word of it.
If you want to try to make the bandit talk, he's right over there."
I'll see what I can find out.

Speaking to him again:

"The man practically walked into our camp! The sorriest excuse for a Red Rook bandit I've ever seen.
Now if we could just get him to tell us something useful."

If you accept the quest from Corporal Adel:

"An adventurer, from the looks of you. Live by the sword and die by it, as they say.
What brings you to our humble camp?"
Corporal Adel said you could use some help.

Intimidate Kip[edit]

If you intimidated Kip into giving you his disguise, Piper will say:

"Well, seems like the captive convinced you to help him.
I'll be interested to see what you find out."

Defeat Envoy Caoiss and return to the camp:

"All that commotion we heard from the ruins? That was you, wasn't it? Heh. Good work."
I disrupted the meeting by killing the Bloodthorn envoy while disguised as a Red Rook.
"A job well done, then! No good would have come from such an unholy alliance.
I suppose I'll let the poor sap go. In a bit. Teach him not to skulk around Lion Guard camps. And maybe I'll toss him a pair of pants to wear while I'm at it."

Help Kip[edit]

If you agreed to rescue Kip's family, he'll instead say:

"Our captive convinced you to help him, didn't he?
He's sending you into a trap, mark my words."

Once the family is safe:

"It appears that Red Rook may have been telling the truth. Or, at least, a version of the truth. Tread carefully. I'm still not sure I completely trust the man."

Before you put on the disguise, he will say:

"I'll admit, I'm starting to believe his story. At least he really does have a wife and daughter."

Defeat Envoy Caoiss and return to the camp:

"So, I'm going to take a wild guess here.
All that commotion coming from the ruins? That was you, wasn't it? Heh. Good work."
I disrupted the meeting by killing the Bloodthorn envoy while disguised as a Red Rook.
"A job well done, then! No good would have come from such an unholy alliance.
While you were gone, I decided to let Kip and his family go. Couldn't stand seeing his wife and daughter so distressed. I even tossed him a shirt and a pair of pants."

After the quest, regardless of how you completed it, he'll say:

"I'll send word to you if any other hapless spies or agents wander into our camp."

Notes[edit]

  • Provost Piper wears regular armor instead of Lion Guard armor and also oddly displays Fighters Guild banners at his camp.
