Okaw-Neeus

Okaw-Neeus is an Argonian of the Root-House Tribe who can be found on the roads of Murkmire. He recently recovered the coin purse of Carius Plebo on the ground but refuses to give it back to him. You can intervene if you wish.

Dialogue[edit]

As you approach them, you will overhear them arguing over the ownership of the coin purse.

Carius Plebo: "You sniveling snake. That's my coin purse and you know it!"
Okaw-Neeus: "Your coin purse? It is I who found it. And so, it is now my coin purse."

You can then speak with Okaw-Neeus for his side of the story.

"Hmm? Do you have something to say, ojel?" (non-Argonian)
"Hmm? Do you have something to say, egg-sibling?" (if you are an Argonian)
Did you steal this man's coin purse?
"To steal implies that the purse is not mine.
To the Root-House people, that which is needed is provided by our Hist through the actions of others. I needed the gold that the dryskin carried. The Hist saw that it would become mine. Simple."
But that's stealing.
"I've seen this kuuda in Lilmoth. His purse only grew heavy with coin by selling the relics of Murkmire. He took from the land of my people. Why should I not take from him?
The Hist has provided that which I need. I have no reason to not accept it."
[Intimidate] And I've been provided many ways to kill you. Give the man back his gold.
"You make a good point. Fine. I will return the coin purse. There is no need for further threats."
Very well. Carry on. (Ends conversation.)

If you convince Carius to let it go for now, he will decide to look for some guards to help him.

Carius Plebo: "Fine. You may have won this round, you thieving snake, but you'll get what's coming to you!"
Okaw-Neeus: "If the Hist wills it so, flat-tooth. But I shall not hold my breath over such a thing."

Okaw-Neeus will then thank you for intervening, "My thanks for calming the waters."

On the other hand, if you intimidated Okaw-Neeus into giving the gold back, then the following will happen:

Okaw-Neeus: "Here is your coin purse. Lucky for you that someone would take pity on your spineless self."
Carius Plebo: "Finally! Took you long enough."

If you try and speak with Okaw-Neeus after this, he will rebuff you, saying "I have nothing more to say to you. Be gone."
