Quest-Related Events[edit]

When initially met he will be worried about being followed by the creatures that attacked his town and the fate of his wife. He will lament "My poor, poor Crestshade."

Speaking to him:

"I can't sleep. I keep thinking about those fiends. What's to stop them from following us and finishing what they started in Crestshade?
And to top it all off, I was forced to leave my beloved wife behind when we fled."
What are you talking about?
"Me and the other refugees, we're from Crestshade. It was such a peaceful little town, before the mad Argonian came.
He released some kind of blood-curse, turned people into monsters. We fled, but my wife is still up there."
Anything I can do to help?
"My wife is the mayor of Crestshade. She's stubborn, but devoted to her job. She refused to leave while the town was still in danger.
Could you go to Crestshade and make sure she's all right?"
Of course. I can go check on your wife.

Speaking to him again:

"I appreciate you doing this for me. My wife made me promise to get the refugees out of Crestshade and keep them safe, but I can't stop worrying about her.
Crestshade is directly north of this camp and our house is right in the center of the town."

When you arrive in the town, you find the tormented spirits of Crestshade's people are trapped in the town. After finding Mayor Gette's body and speaking with her spirit, you help her destroy the Abomination so the dead may rest.

Dialogue[edit]

When you arrive back in the camp after helping the spirits of Crestshade, you have the option of telling Michel what happened and control over how you break the news.

"Did you pass through Crestshade by any chance? Do you know what's happening there?
My wife, the mayor of Crestshade, made me lead this group away when the fiends attacked. I keep hoping she'll walk into camp any moment now."
I'm afraid I have some sad news.
"No. Please, no. I knew I shouldn't have let her talk me into leaving. But she was the mayor of Crestshade. She said she needed to stay behind.
Please, tell me what happened to her. I must know!"
She helped others to the very end. Her spirit is at rest.
'"Ah, my dear, dear wife. She so loved helping people. She cared about Crestshade with all her heart.
Thank you for bringing me this news."
She was torn apart and used to create an abomination of living flesh.
"Eight preserve my soul! My poor, dear wife! Why would you tell me such a thing?
I'll never be able to forgive myself for leaving her alone. Oh, why did she have to be so brave?"

If you chose to tell him she was torn apart to create the abomination first, there will be a different response:

She did help me defeat the abomination. Her spirit is at rest now.
'"That's a small comfort, at least.
Please, leave me so I can grieve in peace."

If spoken with in the aftermath of the attack on Camp Tamrith, he will be on the verge of panic:

"Am I cursed? My home was attacked. This camp was attacked. I don't know where to go or what to do any more."
