Quest-Related Events[edit]

Prior to starting Frightened Folk, Mayor Orrad can be found outside his house where he'll greet you with:

"You are welcome to Fell's Run, traveler, but I'm afraid the town isn't at it's [sic] best right now. Perhaps you should move on and spend the night in Northpoint."

Frightened Folk[edit]

After you start the quest, his greeting will be slightly different, and he'll try to excuse the atmosphere of his town:

"Welcome to Fell's Run. Normally we'd welcome you with open arms and throw a feast, but not this year.
We had a terrible harvest, and times are hard. Might be better if you moved on and spent the night in Northpoint. Come back next year."
Why did you fire Constable Agazu?
"She caught you out at the edge of town, eh? She feels betrayed, I know. I hope someday she understands. The last thing I wanted to do was hurt her.
My wife and I both have always treasured her friendship."
What does your wife think about your decision?
"My wife ...? Oh, she doesn't exactly know ... well, she's been ... sick. Yes. She's sick. Hasn't left the house for days.
Poor thing. Yes. I should actually get in there and check on her. No time for idle gossip. Take care now."

If you speak to him again he'll simply repeat what he said first and encourage you to leave town:

"As I suggested, wonderful as Fell's Run is, you should probably keep moving and spend the night in Northpoint. They have a very cozy inn there.
Yes, and come back and visit us another time."

After freeing the hostages, he'll be in the road with the other townsfolk surrounding the body of Lauravieve Mondorie:

"We did everything they told us to, but somehow we still failed. How will I ever make this right?"

Complete the quest and he'll add:

"I thought that if we just cooperated with them, everything would work out and no one would be hurt.
Now I know. I will never bargain with bandits again."

Fell's Justice[edit]

At the conclusion of Fell's Justice, he shows his appreciation for stopping Gavendien:

"You brought Gavendien to justice, eh? I'm glad.
You know, if you were ever interested in becoming a deputy to the constable. I'm just saying... the job's open."
