Quest-Related Events

During the related quest, you and Naryu Virian act on suspicions that the Maulborn are in Mournhold and discover that the Maulborn are hiding in the sewers. They are protected from detection by the Ordinators thanks to ancient wards put in place by the Morag Tong which operate on Daedric magic. To this end, the Maulborn kidnapped Farona Telvanni, a mage visiting from Vvardenfell, and forced her to reactivate the dormant wards so the Maulborn could carry out their schemes.

Commander Kalara is present in the final chamber where Farona is being held, and will send her troops to kill you before jumping down and facing you herself. When you enter the room, Farona will warn you to stay back, and Kalara will acknowledge your presence.

Farona Telvanni: "Stay ... stay back! Attacking the ... the city. Stay back!"

Maulborn Commander Kalara: "What fool dares enter the lair of the Maulborn? Wait. We know you. Magistrix Vox will be pleased with us when we display your head on a pike!"

When she finally unsheathes her weapons, she yells:
