Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

The Baandari are in a bit of a predicament. They hired a mercenary group to protect them in light of the dangers permeating Malabal Tor. However, things are getting a bit shaky, and the Baandari patriarch, Eraral-dro, is worried that the mercenaries may turn on them soon. He wants you to investigate a courier's camp north of town and see if you can find a clue as to what they might do next.

Head north towards the courier's camp. There is a book on a bench with a note between its pages. Read the note, and the courier will appear. There is a set of orders on the courier's corpse. Pick them up and return to Eraral-dro. He will then ask to speak to you in his office, at Rejmina's House. He wants you to sneak into the mercenaries' camp and give forged orders to their captain. You will need to take a disguise off the courier's body, who has been brought upstairs by Eraral's cohorts. She seems a bit confused at first, but she rolls with the orders. Return to Eraral to find out what you need to do next.

Werewolves have appeared on the edge of town, on Four Quarry Islet. You need to kill a werewolf, cut off its paw, then assassinate the three mercenary commanders present on the island and use the paw to make it look like they were slain by werewolves. This should throw the mercenaries' leadership into disarray. You need to kill Commanders Concordia, Jano and Tacita. Once the deed is done, return to Eraral-dro near the stables.

Notes[edit]

  • Courier Rufinus will continue to have a courier disguise in his loot inventory after you physically strip the uniform from his corpse and leave him in his underwear. This is so that if you lose the original disguise you can acquire a new one, however it doesn't make visual sense.
  • Captain Aurelia Blasio won't exist in the mercenary camp before starting the quest or reaching the related objective.
  • The Gold Coast commanders on the islet don't give experience or loot when killed.

Bugs[edit]

  • The objective marker remains over the book after the hostile courier arrives instead of updating to indicate to defeat him. The prompt on the book remains but does nothing when used again. ?

Quest Stages[edit]

Enemy of My Enemy
Finishes Quest Journal Entry
Tabil asked me to speak to the patriarch of the trading post, a Khajiit named Eraral-dro.
Objective: Talk to Eraral-dro
Latest start Eraral-dro worries the Gold Coast mercenaries will be getting new orders soon. He wants me to intercept them before they get to the Gold Coast, so he can know what to expect.
Objective: Intercept the Gold Coast Missive
Hidden Objective: Find the Courier's Campsite
I've intercepted the message meant to reach the Gold Coast mercenaries. Now to bring it to Eraral-dro while the mercenaries continue to await its arrival.
Objective: Bring the Gold Coast Missive to Eraral-dro by the Gates
The letter contained exactly what Eraral-dro expected to see. He's already made a plan, and wants to relay it to me in a more private venue.
Hidden Objective: Enter the Safehouse
Objective: Make a Plan of Action with Eraral-dro in His Office
Objective Hint: Take the Courier's Uniform
Eraral-dro believes I can deliver a fake message to the captain of the Gold Coast mercenaries while wearing the uniform of a late courier. He hopes to goad their captain into attacking nearby werewolves.
Objective: Deliver the Altered Missive to the Captain
Objective Hint: Find the Captain's Tent
Objective Hint: Put on the Disguise
I've delivered the altered letter to the Gold Coast captain. I should see what the Baandari's plans are next.
Objective: Talk to Tabil
Tabil asked for my help following through with their plan. If I can take commanders from the Gold Coast mercenaries out and blame it on the werewolves, their forces will be severely weakened, and focused on the remaining werewolves.
Objective: Remove a Paw from a Werewolf
Objective: Assassinate the Gold Coast Commanders
Hidden Objective: Use the Paw on Jano's Corpse
Hidden Objective: Use the Paw on Tacita's Corpse
Hidden Objective: Use the Paw on Concordia's Corpse
Finishes quest☑ The raid was a success, at least for the Baandari. I should let Eraral-dro know what occurred.
Objective: Talk to Eraral-dro by the Gates

* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
