Almur is a Redguard working at Rain Catcher Fields. You'll find him at the southeastern end of the area alongside his sister Overseer Jahi. He is the son of Naseiran and the husband of Ohama.

Quest-Related Events[edit]

While searching the camps searching the worker camps for signs of sabotages, Almur will notice you.

Almur: "Jahi sent you, didn't she?"

When you speak with him, he will notice the bottle you found and will offer his help.

"That smell … it's the same that's coming up from the johads. Is that what was in that bottle you picked up?
Jahi will never believe me, but I want to find out who did this as much as she."
She seems to believe it was your fault.
"I know. And in a way, it is! Our father put me in charge of the johads after I, uh, returned from Sentinel. Within a fortnight, most of the johads reeked of this musk!
Even so, I have no idea how any of this happened."
So whatever is in this vial is in the johads now?
Why does your sister think you're involved?
"She has her reasons, and I respect them, as I do her. It would make no difference if I defend myself now.
The important thing is that we find out what's happened to the johads."
You think whatever was in this vial is in the johads?

Both branches lead to the same reply:

"Only one way to know for sure. A taste test!
These three johads are the ones attracting the most beetles. See if the water has the same flavor as that vial."

Speaking to him after listening to his suggestion.

"My sister believes I'm lazy and incompetent. She may be right, but I wouldn't ruin my own family's livelihood!"

After you examine the johads and before you talk to Jahi:

"Whatever drew the beetles here is making them aggressive too. If one of them gets near you, I'd say kill it before it kills you.
I hope Jahi finds some way to get rid of them before Sentinel runs out of water."

Once you have heard Fermouzh's story about workers being bribed to spread the musk in the johads, you can search the house. There are signs of the musk everywhere in the room and Naseiran is no where to be found. Almur will arrive, wanting to talk to his father.

"I can't believe my sister thinks Ohama had something to do with this! Where is Father? I demand to talk to him!"
He's not here, but it looks as if the one responsible for the johads was.
"What? And Father is gone too? Do you think they've done something to him?
Sep's spit, what else could go wrong! What've you found in your search?"
There's the same musk all over the house.
"Then whoever else was in here smells of it too! We need some way to detect the scent and follow their trail."
I have a lizard that can track the scent.
"Brilliant! You follow the trail and my sister and I will spread out to look for Father. They can't have taken him far—he is an old man, after all."

Speaking to him before you exit out of the home:

"Whoever's sabotaged my family's work is going to have to answer to me!"

The lizard will lead you to some tents where an injured Naseiran can be found with a dead Assassin Beetle. The heavily injured Naseiran will have some confessions:

Naseiran: "Seems my secret is a secret no more."
<Almur and Jahi catch up to you.>
Almur: "Father? Are you all right?"
Naseiran: "Wasn't expecting to run into a beetle. It must have followed my scent."
Overseer Jahi: "You poisoned the johads? But why?"
<Naseiran collapses and Almur runs up to him.>
Almur: "Father! Your wound …."
Naseiran: "My last wish was for the johads to remain within the family, but … it caused nothing but strife."
<Jahi walks over to her family.>
Overseer Jahi: "No, you can't die! Not now!"
Naseiran: "Listen! I wish for your happiness. Promise me … the johads …."
Almur: "We will find happiness, Father! I swear to you."

At this point you can speak with both siblings, you will need to help them decide who will own the johads and Rain Catcher fields.

"Father's dead. And for what? Some false sense of security that we won't sell the johads?
I'll never understand!"
What now?
"It falls to one of us to take charge of the johads. Father always wanted Jahi to have them, but she's never wanted them. Neither of us have."
I think you should own the johads.
"And I know what to do with them as well. I'm selling them to another family to run.
This place has seen more than its fair share of strife. I'm done."
And then what?
"It's the only way to end our bickering. After all this, I feel we need to be a family again. Strong. United. And my sister's the only one of my blood left."
Your sister? I thought you hated each other?
"Blood is thicker than water, after all. With the money we'll get from this place, I can buy us a good home in Sentinel.
Ohama will welcome my sister, even after all this. She's beautiful that way."
I'll talk to Jahi about it.
<Ends Conversation.>

If you decided Jahi should be in charge of the johads and haven't turned in the quest, he will say:

"Though she does not want these johads, Jahi has always been a better administrator than our father ever was. It will be an honor to learn from her."

If you decided he should be in charge of the johads and haven't turned in the quest, he will alternatively say:

"I know selling the johads makes the most sense for us.
My family did not trust my decisions, and so neither did I. But now, I see events clearly. My sister and I will find our happiness elsewhere."
So you're selling the johads? (Leads to the same quest completion dialogue)

Dialogue[edit]

When spoken to prior to the quest, he says:

"I'll put up with sand. I'll put up with sun, but I will not tolerate beetles! I cannot work under these conditions.
The constant clicking of their shiny little mandibles drives me insane!"

After the quest, his dialogue depends on whom you encourage to take ownership of the johads. If you thought Almur should own them, he will immediately decide to sell them so he, his wife, and his sister can move to Sentinel and leave the mess behind.

"Jahi and Ohama will adjust to life in the city quickly. And the sooner I find a buyer, the sooner we can put this all behind us."

If you thought Jahi should own them, he will instead say:

"I expect the beetles to clear out soon and then we can get back to work.
I'm never overjoyed to get back to work, but I am grateful to fulfill my father's dying wish."
