Bethesda mistake[edit]

In the game, the text of this newspaper reads "... is revealed to have one of these vampires!", which is incorrect, as noticed by Actreal. I don't think we have an established way of dealing with this problem. I opted to put the inserted word in square brackets: "is revealed to have [been] one of these vampires!" to indicate that it's an editorial correction. But maybe that's overkill? Any opinions on what to do when we fix a mistake made by Bethesda in a book? --Nephele 12:01, 2 October 2006 (EDT)

Whew, that's a tough one. Personally I say if an Bethesda-made error does not detract from the reading of the book, it should be left in for the sake of canon, perhaps with an editorial note such as you've added, and maybe a [sic] for good measure. There are certainly cases where Bethesda put errors into books intentionally, and far be it for us to determine which in every case. An editorial comment saying we think it should be like this would not be out of place, just have to make sure to make it clear it is an edit. (Making the added text italic in addition to the brackets might help.) --TheRealLurlock 15:53, 2 October 2006 (EDT)
