average lock (lock 25 ponts)[edit]

Can someone check what average lock does if you use it despite the warnings, and than post findings? MikeTalk 15:06, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

While I haven't tried it, I suspect the reason that there are warnings and it remains unused is that it would have the potential to break nearly every quest in the game if you could lock any door or container at random. Robin Hoodtalk 22:08, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
there is apparently a single huge bug or a MASSIVE amount of small bugs associated with this spell. conditions in which this spell has resulted in either a game crash or BSOD include:
while holding the Staff of Everscamp casting it on anything
while on any of the Thieves Guild quests
casting on an already locked object of any kind
while holding the Unfinished staff, just knowing this spell will kill your computer (confirm?)
any time an NPC attempts to open a locked object
casting on a display case, period (confirm?)
casting on the door to the Sigilium Sanguis in both the Kvatch oblivion gate or the Cheydinhal Oblivion world, as well as the map with the Portals of Natural disaster(crashes computer on that last one)
entering the Test world, or exiting the cell if you added it to your list while in it (confirm?)
trying to pick the lock you just locked
magically opening the lock you just locked
by what i've seen without looking at the code, my guess would be an error in how the game responds to locked things. NPCs usually don't open locked chests or doors, and i kinda suspect that errors trying to make this spell work may have been the reason why. all i know is, if someone fixes it and posts it as a stable mod for 360 it would probably become the most popular download in TES history. — Unsigned comment by Drumkommandr (talkcontribs) at 04:40 on 13 March 2011

I can't add my custom spell![edit]

Hello. I'm sorry I don't have an account, so this is a anonymous user, but I am rather aggravated. I made a custom spell, via the TES4 Construction set, and I cannot add it to my player. I am using the "addspell" console command with the given ID code for the custom spell I made, but nothing happens. Could someone give me some advice or help? As I said, I'm beginning to get irritated.. Heh..

The ID code for the spell in game will not be the same as the ID code in the console, your better off creating an activator that adds your spel via a script, or simply making a spell vendor with it on. Download the Spell Tomes plug-in, and get your hands on the "Summon Dremora Lord" tome. Otherwise, re-load a previous save, and purchase it before he dies. Bauglir100 00:56, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

If you click on Conjuration from the article page, it will tell you who all sells which Conjuration spells. There's nothing different on the Xbox than on any other platform. Robin Hoodtalk 01:34, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

Addspell Complication[edit]

I'm trying to use the console to add the convalescence spell (0006d7af) but the output it gives me says the spell was NOT added to the player. I've tried it with and without the character id and having my character selected in the console screen, but none of them worked. Spell added upon loading a save[edit]

I have the PC version of Oblivion with all of the expansions, and something that has never happened to me before (which is pretty significant in this case because I've played this game about a hundred or so times now) just occured. I was at the part of the game right after you escape the underground ruined area of the prison you're locked in and had just met up with Uriel Septim for the second time, and I had to save my game and leave the house for a few hours. Anyway, when I got back, I started the game, loaded the save, then I heard the damage sound effect upon loading, accompanied by the message "Entropic Touch added". Begining with Bound Mace[edit]

Al almost fell down from my chair by reading this, because I CHOOSE Conjuration as a MAJOR SKILL, but I think you are wrong on this, people: I selected a High Elf Wizard and, for my surprise, I didn't see this spell in my initial list, because it's a JOURNNEYMAN LEVEL: level 50. Couldn't figure out how to do it myself, so I'll just say it here.[edit]

Under the Alteration spells, the spell "Heat Shell" has the wrong ID. The right ID is "000A9806", not "000A981D". If someone could figure out how to edit the table and fix it, that'd be great.

Spel records?[edit]

Anonymous user right now, and the question is does anyone know how to open the complete spell ID list. The list included all monster powers a ton of stuff that went way beyond the normal buyable spell list.

It used to be listed under spel or spel records a year or so ago. But I can't find it now. Playing on pc. Anyways thanks in advance.70.89.230.157 03:36, 6 October 2018 (UTC)

In the game the console command to add all spells is psb, but I don't know a command that would only show the ids. There isn't or wasn't a page that just lists the spell ids. The only thing possibly relevant was that all the spells here were split into smaller pages and transcluded back here, but no information was removed. If it helps the list contained all the various monster abilities like the minotaur headbutt. Ids for monsters health regeneration extra health special skills like the spriggans I believe absorb health, or it might be will o the wisp. the list had 13 pages I believe and included all the racial skills, vampire ect. You do have access, just search for the School followed by "Spells", eg Alteration Spells, Illusion Spells. Select the Oblivion version and then edit those pages. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 22:51, 7 October 2018 (UTC)

The Unwelcome Guest not a touch spell[edit]

I've been playing for a bit, finally got into the Dark Brotherhood and The Unwelcome Guest (Which I bought so I could have touch unlock underwater) is listed as target, not touch. Does the Unofficial Patch change it? FMPhoenixHawk (talk) 03:04, 2 October 2022 (UTC)

I just discovered this discussion in which the issue of The Unwelcome Guest being on-Touch or on-Target was pretty thoroughly dissected. It appears this is one case where the CS shows incorrect information: in the base game, the spell is on-Touch. I've gone ahead and undone my previous edit. In your case it is the UOP which (probably unintentionally) changes it to on-Target by editing the magnitude of the spell; using TES4Edit I can see that the spell type has changed from "Touch" to "Target". — Wolfborn(Howl) 20:16, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

Debilitate Target - Self?[edit]

The Illusion - Journeyman spell "Debilitate", from Ita Rienus, shows a target of "Self" in the wiki, which does not make much sense. In my Steam version of the game, it is on Touch. Can we update this? Agiar2000 (talk) 05:56, 7 February 2023 (UTC)

Detect pulse[edit]
