Blackscmith[edit]

I've read somewhere (PSM I believe) that the Priory comes with it's own Blacksmith who upgrades your leveled equipment to match your level. Any confirmation? — Unsigned comment by 24.65.21.187 (talk)

Nope, doesn't happen, at least not how you're describing it. One of the NPCs who shows up to become a Knight of the Nine (Sergius Turrianus) is a blacksmith, but he just offers standard repair services. And the armor stand in the basement of the priory can be used to upgrade the Crusader's Relics to match your character's level, but it only works for the Crusader's Relics, not other game items. --NepheleTalk 22:29, 20 April 2007 (EDT)

Safe House?[edit]

in the priory or in the sorrounding houses building's is it safe for me to store my item's not that the will be taken away when i leave for a couple of day's? and are the NPC's named as Knight of the nine the ones who replace the "new" knight's weaker or the same.?.

It is only a safe house after the priory has been fully restored. Before then, the containers may reset or disappear completely each time the priory gets upgraded.
The generic "Knights of the Nine" who replace the original named Knights are weaker, but not dramatically weaker. At least in the one case I examined closely (Lathon and his replacement), the generic NPC was a level lower and had weapons that were one step worse in quality, but identical armor. --NepheleTalk 17:23, 17 May 2007 (EDT)
As I've added to the page, storing ingredients isn't safe, since the Knights eat them. . . at first I thought I was just mistaken about the number of nirnroot I'd collected, then I noticed that to Poisoned Apples were missing as well. . . Thedret and Avita died peacefully in their sleep.
I've found that the Knight will only remove ingrediants from the chests on the main floors. I have yet to have any that i've placed in the basement or undercroft containers be eaten or taken.Lord Eydvar 13:37, 16 December 2008 (EST)
According to my Official Guide, Thedret is two levels below you and all "Knight of the Nine" are three levels below you.Drake3555 22:16, 8 June 2008 (EDT)
Except the Official Guide is wrong. Sir Thedret is one level above you. The individual knight NPC pages on this site and the Knight of the Nine page give all the stats you could want, so there isn't too much reason to repeat the stats on talk pages. (Also, answering questions that are more than a year old isn't really too helpful, especially since the articles on UESP have all been significantly changed in the meantime). --NepheleTalk 11:23, 9 June 2008 (EDT)

I'm not sure that's necessary. The existing link to Knights of the Nine leads to a page with all the knights listed so duplicating the information here seems like overkill. --RpehTalk 03:11, 3 October 2007 (EDT)

Chest Usage[edit]

Just wanted to clarify something in the article. By 'fully restored', does that mean when you've done the first quest in the Priory and the place gets cleaned up? Or does this process happen in stages, because I've never noticed that. Similarly, is there really a reason not to use the chests there until the entire questline is complete - such as scripts on the chests etc?...

The priory is fully restored after the quest 'The faithful squire' (where Lathon brings you the greaves of the Crusader). It does indeed happen in stages, wich occur before 'the faithful squire'. The chests should be safe, but beware ... ingredients will be eaten by your Knights, wich can lead to sudden deaths (if you have these items, for example)--LordDagon 03:13, 30 June 2008 (EDT)

Horses[edit]

It should be mentioned that the priory provides you with two usable horses. Also, one horse is marked as owned. Whose horse is this? Will the owner get on his horse if you ask him to follow you and get on your horse? 68.166.172.55 15:39, 15 September 2008 (EDT)

I believe that the horses come after Lathon joines and the owned horse is his. The free one for you to grab would be that of the late Sir Roderic. (Gadianzero 12:34, 6 January 2009 (EST))
I take back my first statement. I am running through KotN again and the horses join either after Sir Thedret joins or when Geimund & Gukimir show up. (Gadianzero 16:46, 10 January 2009 (EST))
There are three horses. The two usable horses - a bay and a chestnut, i think - arrive with Geimund and Gukimir, but are not considered their property and thus can be used. I don't think they can be used until you allow the two to join, though. The other is a paint horse owned by Lathon. 21:00, 18 December 2010 (EST)

Priory Upgrading problem[edit]

This is more of a troubleshooting problem, but I guess it could be a warning, too. See, before the priory started to get upgraded, I used to dump all the crusader relics on the right wing of the second floor. But now that section of the house has been upgraded, so most of the relics are under a bed at the moment (moral of the story-don't put relics there). Is there any way I could get them back?Bob bobato 10:59, 6 January 2009 (EST)

The only thing I can suggest is doing the entire quest over again by deleting KotN, saving, and then reinstalling it. Just remember to take out all of your stuff from inside otherwise that will be deleted as well. (Gadianzero 12:34, 6 January 2009 (EST))

You could try positioning yourself so that you are looking at the bed, then open the console, click on the bed, and enter "disable" into the console. Then, close the console and try to grab the relics. Once you are done, re-open the console and type "enable" to put the bed back - if you don't re-enable the bed, you could end up with a corrupt save game (don't save the game while the bed is disabled, for the same reason). --Gaebrial 06:08, 8 January 2009 (EST)

Light Inside[edit]

Does anyone know of a mod which stops it being quite so gloomy inside the PotN? The lighting mod I have doesn't cover the building, and I don't think any others I have found do either. I wondered if there might be one I'm missing... — Unsigned comment by 87.127.79.8 (talk) on 4 April 2009

I don't know of a mod, but have often found that changing the brightness settings in the game helps in situations like that. –RpehTCE 04:32, 5 April 2009 (EDT)

Blacksmith[edit]

i know that at some point you get an offer for someone to move into the basement and become your blacksmith, because it happened with my first runthrough. now im playing it again, and ive beaten the questline, but i never got the blacksmith. any help? Baconator96 13:23, 4 April 2009 (EDT)

Oblivion Gate a Danger to the Priory of the Nine?[edit]

Is the random gate that opens near the Priory a danger to the people who live there? I haven't seen anything about it, so I'm assuming that any daedra that spawn don't get too close to the Priory — Unsigned comment by 71.184.123.164 (talk)

Which room is the bedroom?[edit]

The page states: "The containers that do not disappear during cleanup, and therefore may be used for storage, are those on the ground floor and those in the bedroom on the second floor." When you first find the priory, there are no chests on the ground floor, however there is one chest on the upper floor in the side room (the room with a table and books on the floor), but this room only has a bedroll, up the stairs on the right half of the upper floor (just before the side room) next to the windows there is a regular bed. None of the priory has been restored yet, so it's unclear which of these two areas on the upper floor is considered the bedroom. I'd like to store items at the priory since while doing the quests I'm going to be coming back there regularly (and it's a heck of a lot closer than Dunbarrow cove). So is the chest in the side room, which is the only chest in the main zone of the priory before anything is restored, in the "bedroom" and therefore safe to store things in for the entirety of the restoration process? -Cooljoe 99.160.140.131 19:20, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

Never mind, I figured it out. The side room, the one with only a bed roll and a table initially, is the bedroom. So the chest in there is safe to use for the entirety of the restoration process (I think, I haven't finished the KOTN yet, but it hasn't changed contents so far). Hidden Room[edit]

If you found it using tcl, it is very likely a testing room, or a room that was going to be implemented but wasn't. Vely►Talk►Email 17:38, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Bedroom Chest Not Safe[edit]

Ok, so i was making sure i could store stuff in the chests upstairs, i put random clothes in all the chests of the Knights near their beds and i put Umaril's Sword in the chest in the bedroom on the NE side of the top floor. I saved to make sure i could load if it disappeared, and then slept for a few hours, when i woke up all the clothes were there but Umaril's Sword was gone.
