[Don't] Stay on the roads![edit]

"So the Imperial Legion's standard advice ("If you've got to travel, by the Nine Divines, stay on the roads! The wilderness just isn't safe anymore") really isn't true: along the roads you will encounter more difficult, boss-level creatures." - probably could do with noteing that the big advatage to traveling by roads is you can travel with a patroling Imperial Legion Horseman, but I can't think of a good wording right now. I added something to that affect. --Ratwar 12:27, 7 February 2007 (EST)
Thanks (for the feedback, and the fix) :) --Nephele 12:32, 7 February 2007 (EST)

Probabilities of Specific Creatures[edit]

I've looked around and something that isn't clear to me is the probability of getting a particular creature. If I'm level 30 and the terrain level list says that I could get either a deer, a wolf, an ogre, or a minotaur, is it a 1 in 4 chance for any one of them or am I much more likely to get the minotaur because I'm level 30? --Vilhazarog 20:40, 28 February 2007 (EST)

Yep, that's a good question. I've got a half-written stub somewhere in my long list of unfinished projects that describes how the leveling system works, because it can be a complicated mess. In the hypothetical case you give, it's probably actually a 1 in 3 chance for each of a deer, ogre, or a minotaur (and no chance for a wolf). In general, low-level critters drop off of the list for high-level characters. But all of the outdoors lists are set up so that deer are always possible. If I get a chance later, I'll dig up that stub I was writing and see if I can get it useful enough to post even if it's only half done. --Nephele 20:53, 28 February 2007 (EST)
Be careful what you ask for, because you might get it: Oblivion:Leveled Lists#Random Creature Leveled Lists describes how probabilities of getting a creature are determined. --Nephele 00:37, 1 March 2007 (EST)
Thanks, this is awesome.--Vilhazarog 13:24, 1 March 2007 (EST)

Wandering Daedra[edit]

Hi! I was roaming in the north-western point of the map, past Mora's shrine and along there I encountered a random Daedra. There's no Gates anywhere. Just thought I'd let everyone know.86.173.70.46 00:35, 12 August 2012 (UTC)

I believe there's a potential Gate nearby, and the related Daedra enemy isn't properly disabled. —Legoless 00:46, 12 August 2012 (UTC)
