Location?[edit]

how do you obtain this? — Unsigned comment by 24.167.165.112 (talk) on 9 August 2008

As the article says: "Location: Chorrol Oblivion World; see the Oblivion World entry for details." –RpehTCE 14:07, 9 August 2008 (EDT)
I think this is a good question. I came to this page to find out where the weapon was and how to obtain it. Yet there's no information here. "It's a bow. Have fun." That's not terribly informative. A little more information (or any information about this actually) would be immensely beneficial here. --Alaston 08:40, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
It already gives you the location. It gave the location two and a half years ago and it gives the location today. Which part of "It is found in the Chorrol Oblivion World, also known as Random Oblivion World 2" is causing the difficulty here? That page contains maps and walkthroughs. What more do you people need????? rpeh •TCE 08:45, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
I didn't understand that that was a real location. It didn't occur to me that "Random Oblivion World 2" meant inside the Oblivion Gate in Chorrol. I had no idea what it meant actually until you emphasized it. "Inside the Oblivion Gate" makes sense to me, but I didn't know what the (apparently colloquial) phrase "Random Oblivion World" meant. I'd point out that the purpose of this page is to provide information for those who are not experts in Oblivion and may not recognize colloquial terminology as instinctively as many that created the pages do. --Alaston 13:16, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
It is not "colloquial". It is what it is called within the game. --Brf 13:49, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Not all of us that read this wiki live within the game. That's why we come to the wiki. I appreciate your understanding of why that was confusing however. --Alaston 13:54, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
For clarity; I have never been inside of an Oblivion gate. I don't know if the name of the city inside of the gates is actually called "Random Oblivion World 2" or not (in the same way it says "Imperial City" when one enters Imperial City. If it does, then I've still never been inside of an Oblivion gate. If it refers to it as something else, then that's sort of the point. If I knew enough about the game to know what the program calls the area, I wouldn't need the wiki in the first place. Does that make sense? This is (to my understanding) supposed to be a tool for people who are less knowledgeable of the game. If that's the case, it's unlikely they understand that term regardless of the reason that term was used. --Alaston 14:01, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
I hate to say this, but I don't believe you. You've been asking Oblivion-related questions on this site for three years, and making posts like this and we're expected to believe that in all that time you've never been inside an Oblivion gate? I'm not buying it.
There is a link to the page in question, where you can find full details. I'm afraid it's perfectly clear where the bow is located, and if you can't understand the page it's your problem, not ours. rpeh •TCE 14:14, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Uh... Check the post dates. I was active on this site for nearly a month about three years ago. I came back about a week ago (at most). I haven't been here "for three years." I was here, briefly, three years ago. Even if it were the case however, that doesn't change the point that this is an unintelligible "location" for people that actually need to know the location and it certainly didn't merit the rude response you left.
I appreciate the information. It's the delivery that's at issue. I regret getting my bachelors in History, and my bachelors in Poli Sci, and wasting that time getting my masters in education, when clearly I should have focused on the nuances of Oblivion as you have.
Rpeh, when we met three years ago, we clashed because you were presumptive, pompous, arrogant, abrasive and condescending. You spend a lot of time making an Oblivion related tool for others to use. Why not make it usable? Also, treat me the way you'd like to be treated - whether you're running on errant presumptions or not. --Alaston 14:26, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Stop lying. You made several posts on Oblivion gate-related pages so you aren't fooling anybody. And if somebody can't figure out how to click on a link, I'll be exactly as abrasive and condescending as necessary. As I said, it's not my fault if you can't use a damn web page. rpeh •TCE 14:33, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Since this got deleted by Rpeh, I'll go ahead and re-post it. Very mature by the way, Rpeh.
Rpeh, I made posts asking questions about the gates - THREE YEARS AGO. I have not played the game since that time. I suppose I did go inside one for about 15 minutes once (now that I think about it). Rpeh, your response to me was rude and inappropriate, as many of your responses are. Either don't reply to me, or reply to me appropriately. That shouldn't be something someone has to ask for, but since I do apparently have to make that request, my hope is that you honor it maturely.
Kindly refrain from deleting my comments. You made accusations, you've called me a liar, you provoked a fight, and have ignored my request to either engage me appropriately or not at all. That's really only making the situation worse. If you want a resolution, seek one in a way that is appropriate and professional, otherwise just move on. --Alaston 15:54, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
I deleted it because you keep lying and trying to cover up the fact. It's not productive, and I'm well within my rights to remove it. Since you want public humiliation, however, I'll continue dishing it out.
The fact is that you were making statements about Oblivion gates three years ago, so your claim to never have entered one is what we call a LIE. You know all your contributions are recorded, right? Your subsequent admission that you had indeed entered a gate is a pathetic attempt to cover up the lie once it had been discovered. The way in which you keep this debate going follows a pattern we often see on here. Step 1: Idiot makes a stupid mistake. Step 2: Idiot has mistake pointed out. Step 3: Idiot claims the mistake was caused by the wiki in some way, often bring up his vast array of alleged qualifications as if they in some way make it impossible for him to be at fault. Step 4: Idiot is told he's an idiot. Step 5: Idiot keeps on going until he gets blocked for disrupting the site. We're on step 4, heading into step 5.
The wiki is perfectly clear on where the bow is, and if you can't work it out, that's your problem. rpeh •TCE 16:00, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Odd Glitch[edit]

I've noticed most of the time when I attack any woodland type creature (bears, mountain lions, boars, spriggans) with the bow while it's charged, the creature immediately yields and it won't respond to my attacks. Anyone else notice this? 66.167.233.79 02:34, 18 March 2009 (EDT)

If the creature is just standing there and not responding to anything, you've probably drained its speed to 0 or less. A creature's 'awareness radius' - how far away others have to be for the creature to react to them - is tied directly to the creature's speed. A speed of 0 = an 'awareness radius' of 0. --Gaebrial 07:24, 18 March 2009 (EDT)

Weapon Damage[edit]

Moved here from article:

Glitch: (seen on XBox 360). Acquired Hatreds Soul and arrows at level 40 and its damage was only 9 (10 with 125% repair) and the arrows only had 8?? They had all other stats the same as level 19+ except for the damage. When acquiring Hatreds Heart at the same time, it had a damage of only 22 (with 125% repair) with all other stats the same as level 19+. (side notes possibly contributing to this glitch: character is level 40; completed all faction quests except the Dark Brotherhood; partially through Nights of the Nine; have not entered Shivering Isles; main story quest up to Defense of Bruma)

This is not a glitch. It is how Base Damage works for every single weapon in the game. Please learn how the game works before adding information to articles. --NepheleTalk 20:30, 5 April 2009 (EDT)

Deleting a post that I put up which I was confused about, I've since figured it out. I'm sorry about the mix up. 123.211.117.213 14:28, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Another Hatred's soul?[edit]

Well, I've closed the oblivion gate, but, is it possible to obtain one, if by any chance I run into Random Oblivion World 2 by a random oblivion gate? Does the bow appear in every ROW 2 ?

Koliat

Yes it is possible to obtain multiple copies of the bow and the arrows. --MC S'drassa T2M 17:00, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Maximum Damage Claim[edit]

In reality Hatred's Soul does not do maximum damage. Though (Hatred's Soul Arrow)20 + (Hatred's Soul)24 = 46 Which is an unbeatable base damage, bows do not recieve the power attack bonus. So in reality a Bound Swords, Nerve Shatters, or Amber Warhammers base damage of 29 can be multiplied by 3 so the actual damage dished out is 87. Even if these do not have a charge/enchantment and Hatred's Soul does have charge then it's damage would be increased to 81, and while respectable is not the highest acheivable.— Unsigned comment by Nordickie (talkcontribs) on 14 December 2009

The page says it has the most BASE damage not multiplied damage, and even if you do count multipliers, then therebis a sneak attack bounus you can get, so (20+24) *3 is 147, higher than 87 — Unsigned comment by 24.162.127.225 (talk) at 07:45 on April 6, 2011
Indeed, it seems to have the highest Base Damage, when using the Hatreds Soul Arrows. Base Damage does not apply any modifiers, such as Sneak, Weapon Skills, or Attributes. Thus its 44 is higher than any other weapon able to be obtained by the player. --DKong27 Talk Cont 15:28, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Always there?[edit]

Is the bow always is the forbidden at the top of the Hatred keep? I jut opened them and got about 20 daedra hearts and some potions between both of them. Qwertyone 12:41, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Grammatical Error in page title.[edit]

Should be "Hatred's Soul" Please fix. I tried to edit the page title, but it wouldn't take. I did manage to fix the grammar in the article, however.

The item is called Hatreds Soul within the game. --Brf 15:58, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
I can confirm this as well, you beat me to the revert though. :p --DKong27 Talk Cont 15:59, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

Fixing "Grammatical Error" Error[edit]

Changed "Hatred's Soul Arrows" to "Hatreds Soul Arrows" as that is how it appears in-game. 67.60.26.176 06:33, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

Well spotted - thanks. rpeh •TCE 09:44, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

Won't Appear Anymore?[edit]

I have obtained the Hatreds Bow twice so far, first at a low level then another a second timer now everytime I try and obtain another one the bow is never there. Nothing is, except for a bunch of bones. I have the Hatreds Bow in my inventory is that affecting it spawning? Cause I need a more powerful version.

- so no one knows? — Unsigned comment by 72.39.123.186 (talk) at 14:10 on 31 August 2011 (UTC)

well i just got it a second time i wasnt carrying it though, next time i find a random oblivion world i will go and get it from my personal storage and test that though, but it seems to me that your just having bad luck (From Fear to Eternity- Eddie The Head 14:10, 31 August 2011 (UTC))
Are you going back into the same gate, or waiting for another gate to the same world? rpeh •TCE 14:14, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
ok i just went in the oblivion gate with one of each of the hatreds weapons and i got them anyway. (From Fear to Eternity- Eddie The Head 10:00, 4 September 2011 (UTC))
It's a brand new oblivion hate I never been jn before I just saved outside and kept loading until I got the riight one. Got the right gate and the entire map was blacked out cause I never been in it. Could I have forgot to close the previous gate that I got it at which is causing the problem? — Unsigned comment by 72.39.123.186 (talk) at 04:10 on 9 September 2011 (GMT)

Hatreds Bow[edit]

Maybe I'm confused on something but I just got thus bow, I'm level 35 and the damage on it is 19. Shouldn't it be 24? Or am I missing something? — Unsigned comment by 174.59.184.90 (talk) at 19:12 on 4 June 2013

Was it from the Chorrol gate? If so entering the area at a lower level may have set the level of the gate. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 20:08, 4 June 2013 (GMT)
