# Samples 13
Creature Zombies
Zombie
Headless Zombie
Dread Zombie

The ingredient Mort Flesh is primarily collected from dead Zombies (regular Zombies, Headless Zombies, or Dread Zombies).

A sample of Mort Flesh is one of the possible offerings to initiate Meridia's Daedric quest (Bonemeal or Ectoplasm also work).

Notes[edit]

Ingredients[edit]

13 guaranteed samples can be found in the following places (magenta crosses on map):

It can also be found randomly in the inventories of alchemy vendors (starting at level 1) and in some Necromancer and Vampire loot chests (starting at level 1).

Shivering Isles adds 23 additional samples, in the following locations:

Creatures[edit]

Mort Flesh is obtained from almost every type of Zombie Undead creature, including standard Zombies, Headless Zombies, Dread Zombies, Zombie Guardians, Motierre Zombies, and Mucianus Allias. The one notable exception are Deranged Zombies, which drop a special variety of Bonemeal instead of Mort Flesh. These creatures are most commonly encountered in Undead Dungeons where, starting at level 4, there is a roughly one in three chance that any undead will be zombies. Undead also spawn using the same leveled lists in Vampire and Necromancer Dungeons. There are some locations that spawn only zombie undead and therefore have greater probabilities of yielding Mort Flesh and also allow Mort Flesh to be located before level 4. The places where respawning zombies are guaranteed to appear at all levels are (red circles on map):

Places with non-respawning guaranteed zombies are (magenta circles):
