Essential[edit]

Killing both Goris the Maggot King and Luven, I got the message about the thread of prophecy being severed... I doubt they're truly essential, possibly just a similar thing as Crazy Batou. Still, it was a bit unnerving. Jihiro 22:43, 19 January 2008 (EST)

Perhaps a note should be added to the page about the message? As well as adding them to the Essential NPCs page? I would, but I'm not positive they aren't truly Essential?Jihiro 05:29, 22 January 2008 (EST)
They are certainly not essential, but I don't recall getting the 'thread of prophecy' message. I think they, like Crazy Batou, are leftovers from a quest that got removed. --Gaebrial 05:30, 22 January 2008 (EST)
I definitely saw the message, it gave me that familiar jolt of adrenaline telling me I messed up big time ^_^; After searching for them and seeing they didn't even have their own pages I figured it was one of those leftovers things. Also, thanks for your quick response! You and TheRealLurlock are life savers! Jihiro 05:39, 22 January 2008 (EST)
I can confirm that this happens on the non-GOTY edition Xbox game. --FCTW 21:29, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
I just checked in the CS for vanilla vs GotY and it seems they were both essential in the vanilla version. I've added a note to the page. rpeh •TCE 21:55, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

I did not get the doomsday prophecy when I made that maggot mine; or the thief, so not all vanilla versions do this. Mine is:

    The Elder Scrolls III
          MORROWIND
          v1.2.0722

In other words, I gather that at some point Bethesda said, "Oops!", and told the programmers to go back and clean up after themselves. Downstrike (talk) 09:50, 4 March 2013 (GMT)
