Editor's Notes[edit]

To those who wish to contribute to this article, the following remains to be added:

  • Image of Silt Strider (concept or in-game) Completed by booyah_boy.
  • Measurements (height, weight, etcetera, if available)
I understand that you can't copy info verbatim from Wikipedia, but it lists Silt Strider height at about 2 stories, or 20-30 feet. I haven't seen anything abou their weight. Hoggwild5 14:41, 4 October 2006 (EDT)
Yes, I am still attempting to garner accurate measurements of such from the CS (by comparing the size of the character models to that of the Silt Strider; I am also making use of the models themselves in NifSkope in this attempt), but welcome you to add in said information (in your own words) if you deem it appropriate. Furthermore, thanks for lending a hand in fleshing out this article. -- Booyah boy 01:48, 5 October 2006 (EDT)
By using the console I measured my position in the Z-axis at the foot of the Balmora silt strider as 228. Levitating up, I stood on the creature's top-most point and measured my Z-position as 1556. That gives its height as 1328 game units, or about 19 meters. This is about 62 feet. --Brf 18:23, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
Using the same method, I measured the Suran one at 1354 units, and the Molag Mar one at 1372 units. --Brf 18:35, 11 December 2010 (UTC)
  • Name of Silt Strider driver from each noted location Completed by Hoggwild5.
  • Check of appropriate title for driver (I am uncertain whether "shipping master" was the correct adage...see driver's conversation for such) Completed by DrPhoton.
Thanks for changing the title to "caravaner", DrPhoton. I had noted such myself after reloading Morrowind, however, I forgot to come back around and change such. I have since added a concept image of a Silt Strider, although accurate measurements of such remain unknown. -- Booyah boy 05:51, 24 August 2006 (EDT)
My pleasure! I don't know whether such info exists... --DrPhoton 13:12, 24 August 2006 (EDT)
Fair enough...perhaps a rough approximation may be obtained from the relative size of the creature versus that of PC-races (say, as seen in the CS). I seem to recall having read an article on the scale of an in-game unit to real-world feet; I'll see if I can't dig that up and get some measurements.

Glitch[edit]

Umm... I was going to head to Seyda Neen via silt strider from Balmora, but the guy wasn't there. I found the same thing in Ald-Ruhn. I know I didn't kill the Ald-Ruhn one, and I'm 99% sure I didn't kill the Balmora one. Has this happened to anyone else?Halfstache 17:30, 6 July 2011 (UTC)halfstache

It's probably this glitch. rpeh •TCE 19:21, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

Maybe, but im not sure. Ive seen that glitch before, and theyre usually close by. These guys were nowhere to be found, but i'll try the fix Halfstache 01:34, 7 July 2011 (UTC)

Okay. It worked in Ald-Ruhn, but not in Balmora, so i'll assume i accidentally killed him. Thanks Halfstache 01:39, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
