I'm NOT a Necromancer[edit]

Under the "General Quests" section, there is a broken link titled "I'm NOT a Necromancer!: Morrowind:I'm NOT a Necromancer!/Description" I'm not sure if there's a real page it should go to, or if that page doesn't exist.

Believe it or not, that is the actual name of a "quest". Basically, if you look in the chest near Sharn gra-Muzgob at the Balmora guildhall, you'll find a copy of Legions of the Dead. Confront her about it, and she'll admit she is a Necromancer and teach you a spell in order to keep quiet about it. That's pretty much the entire quest. Only 2 journal entries, and it could easily be covered on Sharn's page. I'm not really sure this needs to be listed on the quests page, honestly. --TheRealLurlock Talk 20:42, 11 May 2007 (EDT)

Making Amends[edit]

Moved from [[Category talk:Message Boards]] --GuildKnightTalk2me 00:02, 4 September 2008 (EDT)

I've been told to make ammends with Archmage Trebonius to get back in the Mages Guild, but he doesn't offer that. And when I ask him for duties he tells me to talk to Trebonius as well. What am I supposed to do?!?!? --96.239.149.240 23:55, 3 September 2008 (EDT)

I've added info on making amends, which is time-based for the Mages Guild. Info I left out to keep it simple: Each Mages Guild(except Caldera)has it's own copy of the Common Ring with the expelledMG script on it, which is supposed to be hidden. However, the Sadrith Mora ring can be found next to the supply chest; you can steal it and the script will think you are still in the Sadrith Mora Mages Guild. Each ring has its own local variables, so each guild has its own variable that stores the day when the script was last run, and each gives the +2 bonus each day you visit. The daytracking varaible does not get reset if you are expelled again, so it stays at the value it was when you were last in that guild while expelled. This means you get to count the time that passes, and for each guild that you've been in. If it's been 30 days since you were last forgiven, you have a free rejoin at any mages guild you had been in when previously expelled. Narfblat 18:10, 4 June 2009 (EDT)
I'd like someone to verify the Expelled from the Mages Guild info then remove the verification needed tag. If you'd like to verify through the CS, the script is expelledMG, it uses the global variable ExpMagesGuild, and the script is on the item common_ring_01_mge. This item is placed in the Vivec, Sadrith Mora, Balmora, and Ald-Ruhn Mages Guilds, but not in the Caldera Mages Guild. Since the script is on the ring found inside those 4 guild halls, the player has to be in one of them for the script to run. The 3-per-day when visiting is from the line temp = temp + 2; it will only reach this once per day, due to the check for myday==day. Narfblat 13:43, 17 June 2009 (EDT)

Supply Chest[edit]

It would be great if a few lines were added on the Mages Guild Supply Chest, what it may contain and respawn schedules.

Hmmm. I see a small mention of supply chest location on the individual guild location pages, but those pages are stubbed and not properly linked to here. I seem to remember reading somewhere here about the chests' contents. That data should probably be copied to this page --Brf 14:21, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
There's nothing on the Supply Chest, just a brief mention under "Balmora, Mages Guild" page. --Gelion
Yeah, I couldn't find anything on our site either. Based on the Construction Set info, the contents of the supply chest are:
  • 3 Lesser Soul Gems
  • 5 Standard Fortify Willpower Potions
  • 10 Standard Restore Magicka Potions
  • 2 random books from the following list: The Book of Daedra, Invocation of Azura, Special Flora of Tamriel, Spirit of the Daedra, The Vagaries of Magicka, Origin of the Mages Guild
  • 3 Scrolls of Daydene's Panacea
  • 1 Scroll of Divine Intervention
  • 1 Scroll of Almsivi Intervention
The chest is marked as both Organic and Respawning. I haven't played the game significantly, but from what I understand, this means that the above items will reappear in the chest every 4 months (or maybe slowly over 4 months?), but someone else would have to confirm that. Robin Hoodtalk 02:42, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
I can confirm that the contents re-appear every 4 months in a bunch. --Gelion 7:49, 15 October (CET).
I don't understand how four months makes it practical. Four months in game time is probably a few dozen hours of real life time. It might as well not respawn at all.
If that answers everything, then go ahead and add it to the page (or perhaps each individual guild page, I'll let you be the judge). Robin Hoodtalk 06:43, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
Keep in mind, that 4 months includes time spent sleeping or fast-traveling. It goes by quicker than you might think. --TheRealLurlock Talk 02:37, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
4 months of in-game time is just shy of 40 hours of real-time (as according to a player's wall-clock). This assumes the default time-compression factor of the game's engine (72, if I recall, but might be 74). This also assumes that time doesn't pass more quickly, such as by any kind of resting, waiting, skill-training, vehicle-travel (boats and silt-striders), or other mechanism by which in-game time passes even more rapidly; if so, then it'll be even less real-time for the player. Lee Carré (talk) 22:21, 6 May 2017 (UTC)
I'm afraid 4 months is incorrect. I'm currently through my first playthrough as a Mage; the content of all four Supply Chests has already respawned at least once, and my journal says "Day 26", RL play time about 20hrs. 11:40, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
