Book links[edit]

I think that maybe all the links to books should be linked through the imperial library. Any ideas? The other site doesn't seem to work. — Unsigned comment by 76.20.62.74 (talk)

Huh? There aren't any book links on this page, so I have no idea what links you are suggesting need to be fixed. Almost all book links on the site are links to copies of the books hosted on UESP, so I can't even guess what this "other site" is that you claim doesn't work. A lot more information would be really useful if you'd like anyone to actually help respond to your request. --NepheleTalk 03:25, 29 November 2007 (EST)

M'Aiq = Mike[edit]

M'Aiq sounds like "Mike", short for Michael. Is this in reference to a Bethesda staff member, or perhaps someone universally disliked by the staff (like the Ytrams in Riven)? — Unsigned comment by 32.158.24.87 (talk) on 16 September 2008

That seems too far-fetched. Bethesda usually makes its references a bit more obvious than that. --Timenn < talk > 00:51, 17 September 2008 (EDT)

M'aiq The Astoundingly Far-Sighted?![edit]

As I was mad about not getting his hat, I went back to the kitty in his little island near Dagon Fel. He told me this: "Dragons? Oh, they're everywhere! You must fly very high to see most of them, though. The ones nearer the ground are very hard to see, being invisible But..Dragon..invisible in the ground..Like..hidden sleeping in a bas-relief?!

So my head nearly exploded like in that scene from Scanners. 74.128.56.194 21:42, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

In Balmora[edit]

  • M'Aiq can be found in Balmora for a short time. (upstairs in the store that is in the first house you see, when you enter balmora. (the store that is run by another khajiit)) *edit: This happens very rarely though.

I have never heard of M'Aiq being in Balmora, but this game has enough weird things in it that I have posted this for discussion. However, I personally believe it is just made up. E. Snowmane 21:46, 22 November 2011 (UTC)

It's either made up or a one-off glitch. rpeh •TCE 12:38, 23 November 2011 (UTC)

"Weresharks are supposedly a very rare type of lycanthrope"[edit]

"Lycan" comes from the Greek word for wolf, and "thrope" man. So lycanthrope literally means wolfman. If it's half shark, half man then it's definitely not a lycanthrope lol.--62.30.162.142 21:16, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

On Nirn, apparently lycanthropy is "the disease that causes a person to turn into a were-creature", as stated here. It is also noted here to be not only werewolves but other were-creatures. The word, then, has a different meaning than the one we are familiar with. In our world, a wereshark would not be a lycanthrope, but in the TES universe, it would be. --Velyanthe 21:39, 31 January 2012 (UTC)
Hmm... I don't know, while I agree that the books talk of different were-creatures, I don't think a wereshark would be a lycanthrope in TES, it would be half man half shark. --108.197.122.144 16:59, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
It would be a lycanthrope in TES. Wereboars are lycanthropes in the game Daggerfall, also. --Velyanthe 21:44, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Liches[edit]

  • An ingredient called Dragon's Tongue appears in Oblivion but it is not a tongue of a dragon. Dragons appear in Skyrim, but you cannot take their tongues. Horses also apear in Oblivion and Skyrim, and while their flesh doesn't drop in Oblivion, it does in Skyrim. As Skyrim also has a cooking system, you can then proceed to roast it.

I've removed this from the observation on M'Aiq's "Liches" dialogue. Listing similar-sounding ingredients from future games is pointless and irrelevant to the actual comment, which is simply getting the player to seek out nonexistent ingredients. The note was pointless enough before, but its inclusion of Skyrim ingredients is taking it a step too far in my opinion. --Legoless 12:57, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

"Don't Kill Me!"[edit]

If M'Aiq detects you attempting to pickpocket him, but cannot find you due to your Sneak skill, he will beg you not to kill him. However, I'm not sure whether this is unique to him. 74.38.30.140 09:30, 18 November 2014 (GMT)

Multiplayer comments[edit]

Would it be all right to add to the notes that despite M'Aiq saying that multiplayer is for cowards, there is whole project (TES3MP) dedicated exactly to that? — Unsigned comment by Testman (talkcontribs) at 03:10 on 29 June 2018

No, his comments have nothing whatsoever to do with a mod developed more than a decade after release. His comments are in fact addressed at the rumors that existed at the time that Morrowind might be a multiplayer game. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 19:20, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
