Clavicus Vile isn't one of the Daedra, so I think this information should be integrated with the Legion quest. Thoughts anyone? -- Errabee 11 May 2005, 16:54 (CET)

I'd agree with that. For that matter, who the hell is Clavicus Vile? --Ctishman 14:58, 11 May 2005 (EDT)

Clavicus Vile is, in fact, a Daedric Prince. To quote the "Book of Daedra" from The Imperial Library: Clavicus Vile, whose sphere is the granting of power and wishes through ritual invocations and pact. Hence, he should stay in the Daedric Quests page ;)

Some more info on this elusive Prince: In the end of Second Era, Clavicus Vile is recorded dealing with N'Gasta, the Sload Necromancer of Stros M'Kai. N'Gasta creates "Soulsnare", which gathers lost souls. The Daedra Prince Clavicus Vile grants N'Gasta favors with every soul sent to him. Cyrus the Redguard hero, in his desperate quest to find his sister, manages to destroy N'Gasta by using the Flask of Lillandril. Using the N'Gasta book, he performs a ritual to transport himself to Clavicus Vile's realm in Oblivion. He deals with Clavicus Vile, who is the holder of his sister's soul. Expecting to give back his sister's soul, Cyrus gave the Flask of Lillandril, but instead Clavicus Vile gives a riddle, if Cyrus can answer it he could get back her sister's soul, if he fails his soul would be Clavicus Vile's. Eventually, the wit of Cyrus serves him well.

Recently we know that there is a Necromancer in Dagon Fel, Morrowind. His name is Sorkvild the Raven and he somehow has the Masque of Clavicus Vile. We do not know what deal he has made to Clavicus Vile to get that masque, but it seems that Clavicus Vile is interested on Necromancy. Furthermore, Clavicus Vile, the Prince of granting of power and wishes, and he always takes back something after his generous gift – remember Feyfolken. Same source as before. --Mdimitro 03:30, 12 May 2005 (EDT)

Hmm...just thinking, and the quest probably should be moved to the Legion page, and only be there, since, though Clavicus Vile is a Daedric Prince, it is not a quest for any Daedra. So, it's not really a Daedric Quest.

I would say that a Daedric Quest is one given by a Daedra and not just one involving Daedra - Robmods 16:00, 13 May 2005 (EDT)

Okay, I'll integrate them later. Thanks for the comments and the info! --Errabee 22:09, 13 May 2005 (CET)

Layout[edit]

How come this page has a completly different Layout to all the other quest pages.--Duncans pumpkin 12:43, 4 March 2007 (EST)

It previously just had all the quests laid out on the same page. I split them up, and organized it into a chart similar to Oblivion:Daedric Quests, just because these quests are special, (better rewards than most) and people might want a nice chart of the rewards for all of them visible in one place. Also, each of these quests is stand-alone, unlike the faction quests which have to be done in a certain order, depend on rank, and have multiple quests given by the same person, etc. --TheRealLurlock Talk 13:14, 4 March 2007 (EST)

Inclusion of Descriptions[edit]

The table directly includes the descriptions of the quests and uses the entire text as anchor for the link to the quest page. Apart from being aesthetically displeasing, in my opinion, this also means that the description cannot use certain wiki markups, such as links, without breaking this page.

I'd suggest using the included description page as text and adding a separate link (e.g. "Details") to each quest.

-- JustTheBast 04:01, 9 March 2007 (EST)

I agree, just make a link like e.g. Azura's Quest. --DrPhoton 08:22, 9 March 2007 (EST)
Okay, I just did that. The "Description" subpages of the daedric quests no longer have unspoken restrictions imposed upon them by their inclusion in this page. -- JustTheBast 08:42, 9 March 2007 (EST)

Daedric Voices[edit]

Okay so this is probably pretty trivial but I just noticed something I never knew before. Apparently the voices of the various Daedric Princes that give you quests don't emanate from the statues (or from nowhere at all) as I previously thought. It would seem the Daedra speak directly through your character, as evidenced by your mouth moving. I only noticed this because I had sat long enough that the camera started to pan around me. Also, I only know for sure that Malacath speaks directly through you (just assuming the others do to). I'll try to remember to look next time I stumble upon a Daedric quest =P Jihiro 02:12, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Actually, every daedric prince has an npc for the voice. I'm not sure how it works though. ~ Dwarfmp 02:35, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
What do you mean they have an npc for the voice? There's some hidden npc that's doing the talking? At any rate, I visited Azura and she spoke through me as well (at least, my mouth was moving like crazy which would seem to indicate to me that the daedra sort of possess us). Anyways, it was just something interesting that I figure most people wouldn't notice given that people are likely to be in first person view Jihiro 08:56, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
Yup. There are NPCs called things like "DASanguineVoice" and "DASheogorathVoice" that speak the dialogue. It's interesting that your character's mouth is moving though. rpeh •TCE 09:08, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
Daedric quests in Morrowind are activated through scripts with player->say "[file], [message]" command. By all means, you are talking to yourself, yes.178.150.75.43 18:42, 15 January 2015 (GMT)
