Blind vs Computer controlled enemies[edit]

So the article lacks a proper description if you cast blind on enemies. Does the stack of blind happen after other variables? What is the formula? This should be properly addressed.

It is unclear what happens to the 'visuals' of Computer Controlled enemies effected by Blind, but they certainly appear to have their Hit Chance reduced (magnitude subject to Resist Magicka).
Interestingly, unlike Sanctuary, it appears that Blind can be stacked beyond 100 points on enemies. Vs Almalexia and Her Hands:
- 100 Sanctuary does not appear sufficient to dodge any attacks, and Sanctuary cannot be buffed beyond 100 points. Sanctuary 100 pts + 700-800 Agility appears to be sufficient to completely (or near completely) dodge all attacks from Almalexia & Her Hands.
- 1 application of 100% Blind vs Almalexia & Her Hands also does not appear sufficient to dodge any attacks. In addition, all targets continue to pursue the player regardless of whether the player fights or runs, putting into doubt that 100% Blind actually 'blinds' computer controlled enemies at all.
- 2 applications of 100% Blind vs Almalexia & Her Hands (200% total), appears sufficient to dodge 'some' attacks, but not all. Targets still pursue player regardless of circumstances.
- 3 applications of 100% Blind vs Almalexia & Her Hands (300% total), finally appears sufficient to dodge all attacks.
These results line up with the approximate 'Hit Rate' that can be calculated for Her Hands, which works out to be ~280% vs a 100 Base Agility/Luck player, once their Fortify Long Blade/Agility/Attack bonus are factored in (see 'Her Hands' talk page for more info). 200% Blinded Hands hypothetically should still be able to hit a Player, whilst 300% Blinded Hands should not, and the results of the test support this. Blind + Chameleon[edit]

There is a suggestion here to use Blind + Chameleon. But isn't Blind an aggressive spell that turns the target hostile? And if so, wouldn't that immediately alert the target to your presence and make it impossible to hide from them? Just want to check this. Hecerinde 00:14, 27 October 2007 (EDT)

Blind affects to-hit[edit]

I don't think the info on this page is right. I think Blind is the counterpart to Sanctuary, it reduces the chance to hit by N%. Is this true?--— Unsigned comment by 91.111.50.184 (talk)

I do believe Blind effects the to-hit chance, however I must admit to not have tested it extensively. The Boots of Blinding Speed have 100% Blind on Self, and turn the world dark, so it does affect your vision. --BenouldTC 01:19, 19 May 2008 (EDT)
I've just undone a change to the article and placed the text here instead for the moment:
Causes the target's vision to be obscured, reducing their chance to hit in melee or with marksman weapons. The strength of the spell is the % by which the affected target's chance to hit is reduced (note that some NPCs can have a greater than 100% chance to hit a given target). It is a similar effect to Santuary in this regard. When cast on the player it also literally affects your ability to see clearly, 'fogging' up your view.
The reaason for this is that I simply don't believe it to be true and there appears to be no evidence for it. I've just finished going through the game as a Breton and wearing the Boots of Blinding Speed almost exclusively (I really dislike that Morrowind is so slow). The Breton race has a magic-resist of 50%, which should mean that I miss my target at least half the time in combat if the above is true. That simply doesn't happen. With my Long Blade skill now at 100, I hardly ever miss. Now I'm not sure what the effect is on NPCs, but the comment shouldn't be put on the article until there's some evidence. –RpehTCE 01:48, 19 May 2008 (EDT)

Actually with an advanced character like that, odds are that you have a significantly greater chance than 100 to hit the opponent, factoring in Agility, Luck and the maxed out skill.

I don't think blind has any effect on your chance to successfully land an attack. Not even for NPCs. Elvul's Black Blindfold seems to suggest this because its effects are blind and damage marksmen. If blind effects an NPC's chance to hit, the damage marksmen would be somewhat overkill, right? Of course this isn't concrete proof, so perhaps someone should conduct an experiment to verify. —QuakerTroy 21:19, 4 September 2008 (EDT)

Tested, Blind in and of itself didn't reduce the chance to hit the target. at 100 long blade I only missed 2% of the time 98/100 strikes. Whereas with being blinded I missed 3% of the time. It is simply the screen obscuring effect that blind has that reduces your chance to hit. or at least, if Blind does affect it its only 1% more than normalChronic 06:49, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

Blind on self[edit]

Is it possible to blind yourself? does it actually obscure your vision? Im not a morrowind player, so I would'nt know. The WurmTalk 04:04, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

I dunno about casting the spell on yourself (although there's no reason why it wouldn't work) but the Boots of Blinding Speed let you "see" what the effect is like. 100% blindness gives you a totally blank screen, except for the HUD, so you have to navigate using the mini-map. If you have an active resist magicka effect, the screen is dimmed appropriately. For instance, a Breton with 50% resist magicka sees the game through a 50% grey screen. If you play like that, you can simply turn up the brightness on your monitor to compensate. rpeh •TCE 09:25, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
And this was made by gamers? The WurmTalk 16:51, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
What does that mean??? rpeh •TCE 08:47, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
Oh I'm just amazed that non-proffesionall modders and gamers have created such an interesting add on to morrowind. Sorry for not being clearer. By the way, is it proper wiki etiquette to have a space between post like it is here,
Or have no spaces like this?
Because it doesnt make a difference on the page, only when editing. The WurmTalk 22:44, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
It makes a tiny difference but it doesn't really matter either way. rpeh •TCE 07:32, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
I don't understand what you mean by add-on. Add-on of what? --DKong27 Talk 22:55, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
Like a mod, you know, a plug in or something. Tamriel Rebuilt, to be specific. The WurmTalk 02:06, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

() Blind is not a part of TR--Corevette789 02:16, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Oh ok. But still, they must have put a lot of time and effort into TR... Nevermind. My question has been answered, and this is a bit off-topic. :) The WurmTalk 22:20, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
