Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

Chores[edit]

Mallam Ryon at the Telvanni Council House in Sadrith Mora will ask you to visit Baladas Demnevanni in Arvs-Drelen in Gnisis and ask him three questions about the Dwemer disappearances, artifacts, and language.

Three Questions for Baladas Demnevanni[edit]

When you speak with Baladas, the answers he'll give you will depend on his disposition towards you. If he doesn't like you, you may not even get an answer at all (though you can still complete the quest since you only need to ask the questions). If his disposition is higher than 80, you should get an informative answer about each of the three.

Return to Mallam when you've asked the questions to complete the quest and receive some Messenger scrolls as a reward. You only get these scrolls if Baladas answered all three questions.

Notes[edit]

  • If you have already completed the Telvanni Hortator part of the Fourth Trial of the Main Quest, you will be unable to receive this quest since you would have killed Master Gothren and therefore his Mouth, Mallam Ryon, will not be in the Council House.
  • Asking the questions, receiving a negative response on one or more, and then getting his disposition up and asking them again to receive a desired answer will still cause Mallam to act as if you only got the bad answer for those questions, even when you got a better one later.

Three Questions for Baladas Demnevanni (HT_SpyBaladas)
Index Finishes Quest Journal Entry
1 Mouth Mallam Ryon mentioned something about asking Baladas Demnevanni three questions.
10 Mouth Mallam Ryon wants me to ask Baladas Demnevanni about the disappearance of the Dwarves, Dwemer artifacts, and the Dwemer language. Mouth Mallam Ryon warned me that Baladas may not answer the questions. This is acceptable, I need only ask the questions and return.
50 Baladas Demnevanni would not discuss the disappearance of the Dwarves with me.
51 Baladas Demnevanni told me his own theory. He believes that the Dwemer found a way to translate the sacred from the profane and experiments in anti-creation removed them from the Mundus. The Dwemer retreated behind math, color, and the active principle.
60 Baladas Demnevanni would not say anything about Dwemer artifacts.
61 Baladas told me that the Dwemer created Animunculi as guards and that some of them are still active.
70 Baladas Demnevanni said he did not know the Dwemer language.
71 Baladas told me that no one knows or can translate the Dwemer language, but many Dwemer records and books were written in Aldmeris and can still be read by scholars.
100 Finishes quest☑ Mouth Mallam Ryon thanked me for asking Baladas Demnevanni the three questions.
