Year and place of birth, parents and race[edit]

Should the page reflect more openly on the doubts about the relation between Mankor Camoran and the child of the same name in the book The Refugees? On the page of Haymon Camoran it is currently solved like this:

His son had the same name as Mankar Camoran, which makes it seem as though they are one and the same. However, Mankar's race in Oblivion suggests otherwise (in Oblivion, he was an Altmer. However, the mother of Camoran's son was a Bosmer, as was the Usurper himself. According to Notes on Racial Phylogeny, the race of the mother is passed onto the son or daughter, furthering the argument that Mankar Camoran is not the son of Haymon Camoran).

I am not quite sure that is the best solution either, but it at least makes the reader aware of the doubt. —MortenOSlash (talk) 05:02, 11 May 2017 (UTC)

Racial Phylogeny might contradict The Refugees, but I don't think we should totally ignore The Refugees based solely on racial weirdness. The book first appeared in Oblivion and described this "Mankar" as some sort of harbinger of destruction. Sounds an awful lot like the Altmer guy. I'm of the opinion that the quote on Haymon Camoran's page should be reworded to cast less doubt on who that child was. —Legoless (talk) 14:14, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
I agree. The race discrepancy feels more like an oversight. Or... I remember someone making a point that the main enemy of the game would look rather silly as a Bosmer, at least considering how they're portrayed in Oblivion :P --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 01:06, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

Age[edit]

According to Tar-Meena in Oblivion, she mentions the Commentaries on the Mysterium Xarxes were written "over 400 years ago", during the life of Tiber Septim, and mentions it highly unlikely for Camoran to be alive as of 3E 433. This could be another nod against Camoran being a trued descendant of the Camoran Usurper, and would also mean Camoran may have been born late-Second Era. --Rezalon (talk) 04:59, 22 November 2019 (GMT)

It's definitely worth noting on the page, but Camoran's race(s) in Legends is more than enough to solidify the link with the Usurper. —Legoless (talk) 20:31, 22 November 2019 (GMT)
