King's Guard (or Kings Guard[1]) is a region of High Rock in northern Glenumbra, to the north of Cambray Hills.[2] Due to the trade that regularly passes through the area, the region is a melting pot of the dress, food, and culture of the Breton city-states.[3]

The region was named after the mountain range separating Glenumbra, Rivenspire and Stormhaven.[3] It is home to many crypts and burial grounds, such as the great cemetery of Cath Bedraud and Balefire Island. The only settlement of note is the mining town of Crosswych. The mountain pass linking Glenumbra with Stormhaven is also located here.[2] During the Imperial Simulacrum in the late Third Era, a town called Kings Guard was present in the region. It was ruled by Baron Rodoryan, and had a rivalry with the towns of Ilessen Hills and Meir Darguard.[1] It was neighbored by several settlements, including Eagle Brook in the north, Moonguard in the southwest, and Wayrest, in the southeast.[4]

The Red Rook Bandits, a large bandit clan from the Interregnum period, originated in the mountain passes of the region.[3] In 2E 582, the region suffered heavily from the necromantic activities of the Bloodthorn Cult, requiring military intervention from the Lion Guard.[2]
