The Heran Ancestral Tomb
Idras Heran (Online)

The Heran clan is an ancient family of Dunmer that lives in the province of Morrowind. The Heran Clan is one of the thirty revered families of Vvardenfell[1] and a sub-faction of the Great House Redoran.[2] The Heran Ancestral Tomb is found on the waters of the Bitter Coast, off the road between the Odai River and the shanty-village of Hla Oad. It is known for containing hundreds of years worth of family treasure, safeguarded by snap-wire traps and deadfalls.[3]

Further Information[edit]

The Heran clan and the other twenty-nine revered families hid the location of the Library of Andule, the old repository of knowledge for the Great Houses, and the clues to its whereabouts are hidden in each of their tombs.[4] For the longest time, the library's location was lost to time until in 2E 582, Librarian Bradyn of Vivec City sent an Outlander to retrieve these clues and find the ruins. In time, they were able to recover all of the clues, and the Library of Andule was discovered.[5]

The fictional story, Chance's Folly is centered around a heist on the Heran Tomb and its treasures. It revolves around a notorious thief and lockpicker that attempts to betray her accomplice until she was outplayed and left to her own demise. The treasures were later taken by her former partner.[3]

There have been very few noted members of the Heran clan throughout history. In 2E 582, Idras Heran was among the very few to be accepted into the Shad Astula academy in Deshaan, to become a great leader in the Ebonheart Pact.[6][7] In 3E 433, Galviso Heran was a Redoran lawman that lived in the Redoran Canton of Vivec. At the same time, Brevasu Heran was a bandit under the service of Rels Tenim, whose bandit clan was hunted down by the Fighters Guild in their hideout, Shallit.[8][9]
