DOSBOX Help Utility[edit]

Just wondering how the DOSBOX Helper utility for Redguard is coming along. Have been anxiously awaiting it's release... anytime soon?

Failing that, is there a step-by-step page available to do it the hard way?

Don't forget to add a title when posting in discussions, don't worry, I've added one for ya. --ModderElGrandeTalk contribs 20:57, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
You can find our instructions here. The DOSBox Helper is nothing to do with UESP so I have no idea when or if one might be produced. rpeh •TCE 19:37, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
The only means of extracting Redguard's data from DOS has dubious licensing; it's impossible to automate the game's installation without potentially violating copyright given the tools at my disposal. The game plays fine, though, and the helper does in fact have an installer that would work were it not for the legal niggles. JKing 00:40, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

I got a problem with it. On my XP computer (which is dual-core, wonder if it has something to do with it, the helper-launched DOSBox crashes (only with the helper. The game runs fine if I run DOSBox without the helper) if I try to play Arena (about three seconds after I start the game) and during the installation of Daggerfall.

If you need any more information, I'll gladly tell you. 66.131.29.70 23:17, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Problems...[edit]

I downloaded both Arena and Daggerfall, trying to install Arena gives me this repeating error: j9UMT.png

I managed to install Daggerfall but pressing b to play just makes the screen blink for a second, nothing else happens D:

Anyone have an idea of what is going on? Thanks in advance 166.70.114.125 22:48, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

Problem[edit]

This has been marked as a question that needs to be answered.

I'm sorry if this isn't what I'm supposed to do, but I'm new here. Anyway, the helper doesn't seem to know that I already have arena installed, and won't run it, just asks me if I want to download it. If I say yes:

Downloading Arena...

curl: (7) couldn't connect to host Transfer error; retrying...

And it just repeats. Help please? — Unsigned comment by Pengwertle (talkcontribs) on 20 April 2012

I've got the same problem. I really want to play arena, but I can't if the helper won't download it. Some help would be appreciated; is there a way to get it so I can just manually download Arena and Daggerfall? 75.53.208.29 03:26, 12 September 2013 (GMT)

Link issues[edit]

Is anyone else having problems with the download link? Whenever I click it, my browser (I have tried IE, Chrome and firefox) tells me that the connection was reset. Has this happened to anyone else? — Unsigned comment by 66.209.248.242 (talk) at 19:16 on 24 November 2012‎

I tried it and didn't have any issues, but I will purge the page momentarily so try again shortly. If it still doesn't work, I'm out of ideas. — ABCface 22:13, 24 November 2012 (GMT)
