The Elder Scrolls Renewal Project, commonly known as TESRenewal, is a collaborative modding project which aims to bring older Elder Scrolls games into newer engines. Project releases are free, but require the user to own both the game that is being ported, and the game that it is being ported into. One project, Morroblivion, has been released so far, and is available in beta from the project website.

Three projects are currently in development:

  • The Elder Scrolls Renewal: Morroblivion — Morroblivion is the first project developed by the TESRenewal team, and brings the gameplay of Morrowind into the Oblivion engine. Players must own both Oblivion and Shivering Isles, as well as Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon.
  • The Elder Scrolls Renewal: Skywind — Skywind, similar to Morroblivion, brings Morrowind into a more modern game engine — in this case, that of Skyrim. Players will need to own Skyrim Special Edition, as well as Morrowind and its two expansions, to play Skywind. Despite being required to install Skywind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon are not currently in development.
  • The Elder Scrolls Renewal: Skyblivion — Skyblivion brings the game of Oblivion into the Skyrim engine. Skyblivion will include all Oblivion DLC, and will be available on Skyrim Special Edition. Porting to Skyrim Legendary Edition is being investigated.
