Sailors[edit]

The group of Windhelm sailors working on the Water Stone may not leave the game as the article says. I cleansed the Water Stone, went back to Skyrim for a few days, then returned to Solstheim and basically went counter-clockwise around Solstheim completing various quests. When I got back to the Water Stone, the sailors were still on the coast a little west of it. They were talking about shoving off and heading back to Windhelm when I tried to talk to them, but weren't actually moving. Minor EditsThreatsEvidence 08:39, 30 March 2013 (GMT)

That happened for me at least once as well. Their boat had gone, but they were still there. I guess there's a bug where they don't get removed along with their boat. --Enodoc (talk) 11:46, 30 March 2013 (GMT)
Seems like a rather common bug, then. I had it too. —MortenOSlash (talk) 07:28, 1 April 2013 (GMT)

Has anyone cleared this stone and not had the dragon attack?[edit]

I've cleared this several times and everytime the dragon has attacked. — Unsigned comment by Biffa (talkcontribs) at 15:22 on 11 June 2014

I have. I've done a couple of quick runthroughs of the main quest and only encountered one unnamed dragon, which was at the word wall. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 19:28, 11 June 2014 (GMT)
Every time I cleanse it, the Lurker Vindicator spawns, and a dragon, and a group of rieklings. It's a crazy battle. --Olaus (talk) 05:16, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
As far as I know, the dragon is guaranteed to spawn far to the west over the water. That said, I see above that Silencer didn't encounter one, and I know the mechanics for that whole thing are convoluted, so it's possible there's some strange circumstance where the dragon doesn't appear or maybe it gets distracted by other prey before reaching the stone. The rieklings are semi-coincidental. There's a group of barrels and a treasure chest just to the southeast. If you haven't triggered the rieklings to jump out of their barrels when you activate the water stone, then they get triggered by the general chaos, but if you can deliberately trigger them beforehand so you have one less thing to deal with.
