Daedric Equipment[edit]

This merchant is also one of the few ways to acquire Daedric arms and armor. — Unsigned comment by 75.157.164.100 (talk) at 16:37 on 8 December 2012

Does he sell daedric boots? — Unsigned comment by Keanonbrooks (talkcontribs) at 06:45 on 18 January 2013
He has sold Daedric Boots to me, as well as Daeric Armor and Helmets, both enchanted and unenchanted. Elisevs (talk) 02:03, 28 January 2013 (GMT)
He sells Daedric Boots, I've got a pair of Daedric Boots of the Mammoth (Carrying capacity increased by 50 points) from the very first encounter with him. As a paradox, I was wearing Ebony Boots of Strength (Carrying capacity increased by 35 points) since almost the beginning of my Skyrim game. Luck my friend, luck... --Arkhon (talk) 06:29, 14 February 2013 (GMT)
For some reason, Daedric Boots seem to be rare items for sale. I've also noticed Daedric items in general seem to have a low drop rate now that I have a lot of Creation Club content installed; the CC stuff seems to make the original versions very rare, both to find and with vendors.

Unenchant Glitch[edit]

I don't know if this is notable or more widespread amongst other NPCs (perhaps some further testing is necessary) but (on the Xbox360)... It would seem that if the player purchases one of his unenchanted items (for example: daedric dagger), enchants it (without renaming it), then sells it right back to him it reappears in his inventory as the original unenchanted item. It seems to work even if he has to be resummoned. The process can even be repeated with the same item multiple times. (I don't think it would work if his inventory were to reset while in the process but I haven't been able to test that.) I'm no programmer but I think it may either have something to do with the way the game handles naming conventions or if his [merchant's chest?] behaves slightly differently because he doesn't always 'exist' in game. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can shed some light on why this happens. Zuuk Cyrodiil (talk) 07:54, 8 May 2013 (GMT)

This isn't a Dremora Merchant glitch, this is a general Skyrim glitch. I first discovered it when doing jobs for the Thieves Guild; if you're sent to steal (for example) a Gold Ring, and you're using an enchanted Gold Ring, it will remove both from your inventory. But, like you, I've also encountered the vendor glitch where selling regular items will remove the enchanted item from your inventory.
That's why now, I only enchant either very rare items which won't typically be found, or items which don't even spawn into the game. For example, Psjic gear will never be found, or if you have Creation Club gear installed, but never do the quest, that likewise won't be encountered. But I'm getting that stuff using the console, which means it's a workaround only usable on the PC.
Otherwise, maybe only enchant stuff you won't be selling, like very low end stuff (copper rings, Ancient Nord weapons, etc), or one of a kind items (Headsman's Axe, Radiant Rainment clothes, etc).

Daedric equipment availability levels and a possible bug[edit]

I've done some extensive testing in the Creation Kit to determine the levels at which Daedric equipment is always available in each slot. I was able to get a hard cutoff for Daedric equipment for most of the slots in the merchant chest, but there seems to be a bug affecting the slot that provides the enchanted weapon (leveled list DLC2LItemEnchWeaponAnyBest). From what I can tell, the list is supposed to always return a Daedric weapon at level 52 or higher, but the slot may sometimes be filled with a lower-quality enchanted weapon. Using a very high preview level does not change this behavior.

Can anyone confirm? DraconicPenguin (talk) 06:26, 27 May 2016 (UTC)

Yes, this happens. AGKILL (talk) 20:46, 14 August 2021 (UTC)
