Shout can only be used once per day — Unsigned comment by 75.157.14.106 (talk) at 04:51 on 5 December 2012‎

Yep, this is correct! It's now been added to the article. Thanks for the info. :) — ABCface 17:05, 17 December 2012 (GMT)

Duration[edit]

I feel as though the duration of the shout should be noted on the actual page though I wouldn't know where to put it. Just suggesting that to whoever feels like adding it in. --BlackhawkXIII (talk) 23:45, 7 December 2012 (GMT)

Good point. I've updated the article to include this information, though I wasn't entirely sure where to put it either. Technically, the information listed in the section above is what the game data says, but we shorten these descriptions in our info boxes for dragon shout pages, and it seemed redundant to list "for 300 seconds" after each one. So I added it to the main description rather than adding it to the infobox. — ABCface 17:05, 17 December 2012 (GMT)

Ancient Dragonborn[edit]

I was in Forelhost Crypt fighting draugr when the aura of the shout appeared and started fighting alongside me using different shouts from what I know. When I put the cursor over it, it read Ancient Dragonborn. Has this happened to anybody else? — Unsigned comment by 74.198.9.150 (talk) at 03:47 on 9 December 2012‎

Sorry I didn't see the note in the shout description. — Unsigned comment by 74.198.9.150 (talk) at 03:53 on 9 December 2012‎

Vampire Lord[edit]

I used the shout and then transformed into a Vampire Lord. The effects seems to work as a Lord too but when i transformed back the animation was still there. Forever! Using the shout again fix the bug :) — Unsigned comment by SRX2 (talkcontribs) at 14:57 on 16 December 2012‎

Unarmed Power Attacks[edit]

Here's a thought I had. Will the first effect of the shout improve the damage of unarmed power attacks? It's definitely worth looking into (and noting on the page) since there are so few ways to increase unarmed damage in Skyrim. --BlackhawkXIII (talk) 03:13, 1 February 2013 (GMT)

Crash[edit]

So I was playing the game and everything was working fine using this shout I do have the Companion Share and Recruit mod active and i taught my followers this shout and they were using and I was having no issues. So when i went to fast travel everything seemed fine but it crashed at the end of the loading screen and now if i try to load any save with this shout active on my followers or me the game crashes and i was wondering does anyone know how to fix this — Unsigned comment by 158.135.243.123 (talk) at 10:43 on 14 February 2013‎

Uninstall the Companion Share and Recruit mod. Jeancey (talk) 17:46, 14 February 2013 (GMT)

Archery[edit]

The description says: " and power attacks do 25% more damage ", how is that when using bows? Because there are no power attacks with bows. And currently im only using bows..

WeeziMonkey (talk) 14:51, 15 February 2013 (GMT)

Well then you won't have any bonus, it's as simple as that. Though it's a one-per-day shout so it's not a huge loss I think. 90.11.117.46 15:15, 15 February 2013 (GMT)

Different pronunciation[edit]

I dont know if somebody else have this problem but sometimes when i use this shout my character use the words from another shout, the effects are correct but by far i hear my char shouting the frost breath or the fire breath shout words, maybe the unnoficial dragonborn patch caused this i cannot confirm with the entire shout but before instaling it, i have the first and second words and nothing changed but after the patch the pronunciation has changed

Well, I know "Mul Qa Diiv" can sound a lot like "Foh Krah Diin" (Frost breath) so maybe they just sound the same when your character says them. That's just a thought anyway. --BlackhawkXIII (talk) 03:18, 20 February 2013 (GMT)
It seems to me that the final two words, Qah Diiv re-use the same sound as Krah Diin when used on a Female High Elf. It's nearly the exact same sound with the exception of a V sound being stuck at the end (rather badly) of the Diiv to make it sound different. Tested by listening to both after extracting the sound files for Frost Breath and Dragon Aspect for the FemaleElfHaughty voicetype, and of course actually listening to it in game.--Swinton (talk) 01:20, 15 September 2013 (GMT)

The third word's power[edit]

I've just checked the CK and see that the third word also makes all shouts stronger in addition to reduce cool down time. Specifically, shouts with duration such as Slow time, Become Ethereal, ... last 50% longer and shouts with magnitude such as Fire, Frost breath are 25% stronger. I think this is an important note, can someone verify it?117.5.17.225 17:25, 22 February 2013 (GMT)

It's already on the page, actually. See the Notes section. Elakyn (talk) 18:14, 22 February 2013 (GMT)
Ah yes, my bad. So there is only small problem with the note. The increase is 25% magnitude or 50% duration with Ice Form being the only exception with 25% longer. The note says ranging from 10% to 50%.117.5.17.225 16:00, 23 February 2013 (GMT)

Diiv[edit]

Is likely not literally translated as wyrm. Contextually it would a reference to Hermaous Mora and His sphere.— Unsigned comment by 98.150.205.41 (talk) at 05:35 on 24 February 2013‎

Unlikely. Considering he is a dragon priest, this could easily be a reference to him serving the dragons, considering it is written in dragon and is commemorating him, i.e. praising him. If he had already betrayed them, it would not be so praising of his great wisdom. Jeancey (talk) 17:44, 24 February 2013 (GMT)

Perks?[edit]

I'm wondering if the perk Stability effects how long Dragon Aspect lasts. Does anyone know?Darkblade (talk) 02:08, 7 March 2013 (GMT)

It does not, because it effects alteration spells only, whereas Dragon Aspect is a shout... Jeancey (talk) 02:51, 7 March 2013 (GMT)
Stability does however affect shouts such as Slow Time.Maldini (talk) 08:03, 6 February 2020 (GMT)

Visual effect[edit]

I just thought it should be noted that the visual effect of this shout uses the same appearance as Dragon Scale armor.

Is this based on actual game data? I mean, I see some similarities but the Dragon Aspect armor is a lot spikier. --BlackhawkXIII (talk) 04:24, 28 March 2013 (GMT)

The questioned bug about the Summoned DragonBorn going on a rampage[edit]

The first time I had the Ancient DragonBorn appear , he didn't immediately attack everyone but oddly enough he randomly killed three guards and then sheathed his battleaxe and the guards did likewise, I do not know what caused this but could it be related to me killing a dragon immediately before he appeared? While I have been unable to recreate it exactly, I found it odd he decided to kill the three guards that helped fight the dragon, but left two guards who just arrived and never even initiated combat with the dragon alone, maybe it's some way the factions are lined up? I have no access to such information but I thought this little bit of information on the glitch or something resembling it could help solve it eventually. My apologies if this is in incorrect format or poorly written as I am new at this. HomestuckOtaku (talk) 04:49, 25 June 2013 (GMT)

Comment on Bug Regarding Permanent Visual Effect[edit]

I did this But it wore off after a while its not entirely permanent I went back into Apocrypha and somewhere it just stopped working "In rare cases activating Dragon Aspect then immediately activating the Vampire Lord power will make the visual effect of Dragon Aspect permanent." so you can stop it but it will stay even if you change armors transform and all that kind of stuff

Actually not rare use it transform while transformed wait 24 hours — Unsigned comment by 24.32.134.61 (talk) at 21:05 on 1 July 2013

Possible bug or note to be added[edit]

My suspicion of the Ancient Dragonborn attacking anything hostile to the dragon are confirmed, during another dragon fight, the Dragonborn attacked and was killed by Delphine during the main quest when she was assisting me during combat. I have been able to recreate this multiple time so I believe it should be added to either the bug or notes section HomestuckOtaku (talk) 21:04, 2 July 2013 (GMT)

I too have been able to through the use of mods reproduce the summon and I too see that the summoned DB seem to attack other NPC's randomly, however after doing some research I found out that the summoned DB aggressive counter is set to "2" this means that they will attack anyone enemy or neutral.
The only solution to this problem is to figure out how to make them sheath their weapons because fail to do so results in the player incurring a bounty. Hope this clarifies some things for you dude.[[Unknown]] 23:55, 17 September 2013 (GMT) — Unsigned comment by 84.13.31.122 (talk)

Dragon Aspect jammed?[edit]

I used Dragon Aspect and then may have attempted to use it again, being somewhat absent-minded. When I remembered to change my shout, I opened up the Shouts menu only to find every one of them greyed out and the selector stuck on Dragon Aspect. When I attempted to click anywhere in the list, it gave me the message "Cannot change shouts while shouting." Restarting the game by going to desktop and reloading did not make any difference, but shutting the game down and then restarting restored things to normal. Odd, and very annoying. Robinwitch1 (talk) 08:37, 9 December 2013 (GMT)

I've also experienced this problem (though with the Dragon Rend shout), though I'm not sure exactly what the cause is and whether it's universal to all shouts or only certain ones. I believe I'm usually able to remedy the problem by sheathing/unequipping my current weapon. I may try some tests to determine the cause. --BlackhawkXIII (talk) 09:01, 9 December 2013 (GMT)

This can also be fixed by equipping an ability and then selecting a shout.

I've run into this bug before, it seems that the character gets stuck in the process of shouting, so it greys out all the other ones since you're technically in the process of using a shout. By switching to an ability and back, you in effect cancel the shout.

Armor Cap[edit]

I've heard that this stacks with the Ebony Skin and Mage Armor. How close does it bring us to hitting the armor cap in cloth? Is 450 the new highest total?

The alteration spell Dragonhide puts you on the armor cap, making any other boosts irrelevant. It's a long cast but can be used as often as wanted. 217.122.94.234 16:33, 22 May 2014 (GMT)
The alteration spell Dragonhide DOES NOT raise your armor rating to the cap. It locks your current armor rating and stacks with it applying a flat 80% reduction in damage. Armor rating however, cannot be changed under the effects of Dragonhide. Attempting to change your armor will simply set your AR at 0.

Can't use in God mode[edit]

I've just noticed you can't even use the shout twice in one day if you have God mode enabled.
