Quest End[edit]

Note: I just read this guide and at least in v2.13 you DO have to return to the king of worms... perhaps this guide describes an older version? — Unsigned comment by 193.11.245.141 (talk) on 20 June 2008

I just finished this quest, v2.13, and as soon as the Lich died I got the dialog about the underking and the reward, no need to return to Scourg Barrow. So I'm not sure why, but different playthroughs are going differently in this regard. --NerevarReborn (talk) 17:27, 4 August 2016 (UTC)
I've played this quest at least five times with patch 2.13 and you definitely HAVE to go back to the King of Worms, and I've just reviewed the quest code of v2.13 to be absolutely sure. If you are really using patch 2.13 you probably use an outdated questfile since this problem was reported in older versions of the game, if I remember correctly. Well then honestly I'm not sure what's going on. I'm running v2.13 from DaggerfallSetup with all quest patches and fixes applied, I don't think there's anything I'm missing. Maybe I do have an old, unupdated file kicking around somewhere; regardless, I'll accept that this is probably just an issue on my end. --NerevarReborn (talk) 16:16, 13 August 2016 (UTC)

Style?[edit]

While I can appreciate the creativity of using a first-person narrative as a walkthrough, is it appropriate here? Marstinson 20:38, 19 October 2008 (EDT)

The first-person narrative stems from the old non-wiki walkthrough, afaik (http://www.uesp.net/dagger/hints/wt_lich.shtml). It's a great read, but I agree that it feels inappropriate in a wiki. However, it would be a shame to lose it. Morg 17:01, 1 November 2008 (EDT)
One of the current tasks is to revamp these pages to remove first person usage and other crimes against our style guide! If you want to help to make the changes, we'd all be grateful. –RpehTCE 18:13, 1 November 2008 (EDT)
I think it would be a good idea to do this, but at the same time I think we should make sure the old version survives. Will the old UESP pages continue to exist along with the wiki? I think it would be a good idea to let the old guide stay there, and at the same time link to it from these pages, pointing to it as an informal guide, complementing the information in the wiki. Given that
  • three years after the site was moved to a wiki format, the old site still exists in its entirety,
  • the disk space taken up by the old site is minimal, especially compared to the wiki, and
  • disk space isn't a current problem with the site, and if it were Daveh would probably just purchase another hard drive,
I'd say it's safe to assume that the old site will continue to be accessible -- at least as long as Daveh continues to maintain UESP. --NepheleTalk 17:17, 10 November 2008 (EST)

Zombie Attacks[edit]

For some reason I keep on getting attacked by a zombie daily. I haven't yet officially started the quest but I keep on getting attacked by zombies with the same loot as the "courier" zombie, so I think they're somehow associated with the quest. Any help?

Just kill the zombie once and it should not bother you any longer. I've never had any problems with this quest, it is in fact one of the few quests of patch 2.13 that didn't need any unofficial fixes.--PLRDLF (talk) 18:34, 7 November 2014 (GMT)
I know that it probably should attack only once but still I'm facing continuous attacks.62.145.182.89 14:49, 12 November 2014 (GMT)

Preparation/Equipment[edit]

I am playing as a knight, so I can't really cast spells and instead resort to magic items and potions. For defense I have potions of resist fire and resist shock. My weapon is an orcish katana, which is good enough to harm the lich. Is this equipment good enough?
