It Won't Let me Edit this Page[edit]

Whenever I hit the "edit" tab on the top of the Raven Rock page, it only let's me edit the "Raven Rock Mine" info. I wanted to edit the top because I wanted to fix the link for Nord. What is going wrong here?

The rest of the page is transcluded from Lore:Raven Rock. It's using the {{NAMESPACE}} feature in the link, which causes it to fail if there's no page in the namespace. I think the best solution here is to create a Bloodmoon:Nord page and redirect it to Morrowind:Nord - think I'll do that now. --TheRealLurlock Talk 10:52, 1 August 2007 (EDT)

Hillod?[edit]

Does anyone else think we should include that Hillod the Outlaw in Oblivion claims to have helped build Raven Rock? — Unsigned comment by 24.110.239.150 (talk)

It's already mentioned on the Tamriel page. As it's not strictly relevant to Bloodmoon, there isn't really any need for that information to appear on this page. --Gaebrial 04:29, 4 July 2008 (EDT)

Raven Rock is kinda... missing parts.[edit]

I'm not entirely sure if it's my xbox (using the GOTY edition on xbox) or if others have had this problem, but each time I've done the East Empire Company quests through to the end, raven rock is missing a good portion of the buildings, there's no walls around it, and there's shadows on the ground all around where buildings, walls, etc should be. I've taken the time to use a different disc, or choose different things (I.E. go with Carnius instead of Falco, choose the smithy instead of the trader, and different spots for the estate) but all paths have ended the same way. Related, the map shows it stuck in the second stage of building the colony from when it gets there onwards. It's never shown as complete, or further on. Just curious about this. 98.20.251.207 19:55, 20 June 2009 (EDT)

It's not just you. I've got the same issue, also using xbox GOTY (on an xbox 360). Dpotts 05:18, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

The same problem has happened to me (also on the xbox GOTY on Xbox 360). Does anyone have any solutions? — Unsigned comment by 112.213.204.171 (talk) on 23 June 2010

It seems that the developers cut a few corners on the Xbox version (I would guess to save on disc space/memory, but you'd have to ask them) and one of the more noticeable omissions was that they left out the final stage of the colony's development. Dlarsh(T,C) 02:21, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
I've finally updated the page writing the buildings that are actually included in the Xbox version. Please confirm it's the same for all of you. — Giant Lizard (talk) 16:09, 20 September 2021 (UTC)

Baro Egnatius[edit]

In the article, Baro Egnatius is listed as Transport. He does not offer Transport and it is not listed on his page. Is this a mistake? --DKong27 Talk 22:29, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Misplaced Text[edit]

The line "When you first encounter the colony it is a bare patch of open snow. As you progress, buildings are constructed and it becomes a center for murder and intrigue." is placed at the end of the Oblivion section about Raven Rock when it should be under Bloodmoon. — Unsigned comment by 151.213.43.187 (talk) on 18 August 2010

Thanks for pointing that out. The problem was caused by transcluding the Lore article, so I've stopped doing that and rewritten the relevant text. rpeh •TCE 16:45, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

ebony[edit]

What is the actual number of ebony in the mine? (Vvardfell 13:31, 28 November 2010 (UTC))

24 rocks (0-8 ebony) and 6 crates (0-4 ebony). rpeh •TCE 15:20, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Real world connection? Or "Fictional" Real World connection?[edit]

Ok, so Raven Rock is a government facility in PA, USA. This may or may not have been this inspiration for the Raven Rock in Fallout 3. So, the question is did Bethesda choose to name the Fallout 3 facility after the Bloodmoon mining camp, or after the "real world" facility? Or did they name both after the real world facility? OR....did they name the Fallout 3 facility after the real world facility, and the name of the Bloodmoon mining camp is just a coincidence? I'd bet it's that last one, since the facility in Fallout 3 performs the alleged function (I say "alleged" since most of the details are still classified) of the real world facility, and not so much that of a mining camp, as in Bloodmoon. That and the fact that at the time of Bloodmoon's development/publishing, Bethesda hadn't yet obtained the rights to the Fallout franchise from Interplay (but they were close, I think).

I've read the "How To Contribute" page, but couldn't find any rules about "Don't talk about Fallout 3 here, it's a whole can of worms" sorta thing. Is that an unspoken rule or something? Predcon 05:45, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

The thing is that Fallout 3 came out well after Bloodmoon. If the Fallout 3 wiki wants to add a note about Bloodmoon, that's fine, but Bloodmoon clearly wasn't influenced by Fallout so mentioning it wouldn't be appropriate. rpeh •TCE 06:42, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
I never suggested that Bloodmoon was influenced by Fallout. Bethesda Software is located, naturally, in Bethesda, Maryland. Or it was, now it's in Rockville. Anyway, Maryland is bounded on the North by Pennsylvania, which is where the real life Raven Rock facility is located. Bethesda used a lot of real world locations when creating the Wasteland D.C. area, since Bethesda is pretty close to D.C. Don't you think they might have slipped a few references to the area surrounding their main office into other games? Predcon 20:32, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
Real-world etymology is usually excluded from articles. Nice find, though. Legoless 21:06, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
Your question was involving Fallout3:
So, the question is did Bethesda choose to name the Fallout 3 facility after the Bloodmoon mining camp, or after the "real world" facility?
We are not concerned with Fallout3 here. --Brf 21:09, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
You're focusing on the FO3 part. Stop. I also asked about the Real World, as in "The Planet Earth That We Are Living On Now". There is a Raven Rock near Bethesda, Maryland where the company's main office was located at the time of Bloodmoon's development. Predcon 22:01, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
Fine. Re-write your question without mentioning Fallout3. --Brf 22:04, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

() Legoless already answered that. We do not include real world etymologies or references unless they are absolutely obvious. This is just a case of two different places having the same name. Since there is nothing else linking the two locations besides a name I see no reason to add this to the article --AKB Talk Contribs 22:11, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Yup. Looking on Google maps, I see several Raven Rock roads within a half-hour's drive of Rockville and Bethesda, along with nearby state parks and mountain trails and such. It appears to be a pretty common name around there. --Brf 22:19, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Not even in Buildings[edit]

Every Building I enter in Raven Rock (except the mines) I'm just in some brown space of nothingness. I can see the building a bit up north But I can't enter it. Its like the falling through the Ground glitch except I'm not in the Building. Anyone know a Fix??? — Unsigned comment by 174.0.15.205 (talk) at 22:51 on 13 March 2012

Brown space is what interior cells look like. I know it happened to me once that a part of the wall went missing in-game. I just used the console to duplicate a near by wall and place it there. But the entire building? Several of them? This is beyond repair. You might wanna think about loading a save before Raven Rock was built and do it all over again, because something here went terribly wrong. -- kertaw48 09:34, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
