Wizards Staff
20 May 2002

To reach the rank of Wizard, you first need a Wizard's staff (all guild quest giver's should tell you the same information). You can either buy one for 5000 gold, or ask about a former guild member Anirne, a renegade ex-member in the caverns of Sud, a cavern on the West coast of Sheogorad, West of Dagon Fel. The caverns are pretty empty until you reach a point where you must teleport up onto some stone towers oddly in the middle of nowhere. You'll encounter a variety of creatures including some Skeletal Archers, Daedroth, and Hunger. Anirne can be found in a room reached by Levitate (just West of the Entrance) and attacks you on sight. She will have the staff on her body when you kill her. Don't forget to look around for loot if you have a chance. Once you have the staff you can return to any Mage Guild Hall for advancement to Wizard.

Becoming the Guildmaster
20 May 2002

In order to achieve your last guild rank of Arch-Mage you must replace Trebonius Artorius in the Vivec hall as the guildmaster. This isn't much of a surprise if you're familiar with Trebonius, he seems a bit light headed to be head of the Guild. Once you've finished all of Skink's quests, and reached the rank of Master Wizard, talk with Skink to be given what amounts to Trebonius's pink slip (he's being fired by the Empire). Once you talk to Trebonius and give him the note, you will receive the last rank.

Similarily, if you've finished all of Edwinna's quests, talk to her about Trebonius and then talk to Trebonius about becoming the Arch-Mage. He will challenge you to a duel to the death in the Vivec Arena. He has some great equipment if you can manage to defeat him and become the new guildmaster and Arch-Mage.

If you killed Trebonius some other way (oops) and did not raise to the rank of Guildmaster, you can open the console in the PC version and enter the command:

PCRaiseRank "Mages Guild"

Becoming the Guildmaster Peacefully
14 January 2003

There is a non-violent way to becoming archmagister of the mages guild. If you do all of the mages guild quests, Skink in Tree in Sadrith Mora will ask you to deliver a letter to Trebonius from Ocato (spelled correctly this time). In it, Ocato asks Trebonius to promote you to arch-mage. Trebonius will, but he won't step down; you end up both being arch-mages, and you get a higher reputation bonus (+2 confirmed) than if you kill him. The downside is the only way you can get his equipment is by doing the dwemer and Telvanni quests he sets for you.

Ajira's Mushrooms
19 May 2002

This is the first quest offered by Ajira when you join the Mages Guild at Balmora. In order for Ajira to become a Journeyman in the Guild, she must study some local mushrooms. In particular, she needs four different samples of Luminous Russula, Violet Coprinus, Bungler's Bane, and Hypha Facia, all commonly available on the Bitter Coast. The best place, she says, is South and West of Balmora.

Name Image Description
Luminous Russula [Luminous Russula, 103x86 (3kb)] A short, smelly, toadstool which is brown on top.
Violet Coprinus [Violet Coprinus, 87x97 (3kb)] Long stem toadstools that glow blue at night.
Bungler's Bane [Bungler's Bane, 136x82 (3kb)] Grows on trees and looks like brown shelves.
Hypha Facia [Hypha Facia, 157x78 (3kb)] Looks like Bungler's Bane and grows on trees.

Indeed, just wander around the swamps across the hills South West of Balmora and you can collect the samples very quickly. Once you collect all four sample and return to Ajira, you receive 4 Cheap Restore Health potions as a reward, and a +10 increase in disposition.

Ajira's Bet With Galbedir
19 May 2002

It appears that the dear Ajira in the Balmora Mages Guild has made a bet with Galbedir one who will become Journeyman first. Ajira wants you to give Galbedir a fake soul gem. All uou need to do is take the fake soul gem and place it in Galbedir's desk, at the top of the mage guild. Just place the fake soul gem in the desk with all the other soul gems on it and return to Ajira. Your disposition with Ajira raises by +10. Note that if you talk with Galbedir afterwards, she doesn't seem to mind the sabotage attempt.

Ajira's Flowers
27 October 2002

Much like her previous mushroom quest, Ajira asks you to collect four different local flower specimans. Gold Kanet, Stoneflower Petals, Willow Anther, and Heather. All of these can be found on the shores of Lake Amaya, which is South East of Balmora.

Name Image Description
Gold Kanet [Gold Kanet, 92x132 (4kb)] Grows near rocks, has yellow flowers and broad, dark-green leaves.
Stoneflower Petals [Stoneflower Petals, 125x116 (4kb)] Dark blue and stems bend towards the ground.
Willow Anther [Willow Anther, 133x115 (4kb)] Reddish and tall but does not bend to the ground like the Stoneflower.
Heather [Heather, 121x81 (4kb)] Has needles, grows near the ground, and has pink flowers.

Indeed, just wander around the wild across the bridge South East of Balmora and you can collect the samples very quickly. You can also find the Gold Kanet, Stoneflower Petals, and Willow Anther, in a potted plant in the Fine Clothier's Shop, somewhat north of the mages guild.

Once you collect all four sample and return to Ajira, you receive 6 Cheap Restore Magicka potions as a reward, and a +10 increase in disposition.

Includes Contributions from Allen.

Ajira's Ceramic Bowl
19 May 2002

Ajira in the Balmora Mages Guild asks you to fetch a ceramic bowl for her from Ra'Virr, a trader just next door to the guild in town. The bowl only cost 2 gp and your disposition with Ajira raises slightly. You don't get this quest if you leave the mages guild after finishing Ajira's previous quest.

Ajira's Stolen Reports
19 May 2002

Ajira in the Balmora guild must find her reports on the mushrooms and flowers that apparently Galbedir store from here (probably in turn for Ajira sabotaging her soul gems). Ajira says that Galbedir has not left the guild so they must be around inside somewhere. Speaking with Galbedir goes nowhere until your disposition with her is good enough (around 70). The first report is under a dresser in the bedrooms downstairs. The second is amoung the sack of ingrediants on the ground floor. Once you return the reports to Ajira you are rewarded with a +10 disposition, and exclusive potions of Fire Shield, Forst Shield, and Lightning Shield.

Staff of Magnus
20 May 2002

Ajira in the Balmora guild will tell you about the Staff of Magnus once you reach the rank of Magician or higher. This isn't a quest per-se, but merely a chance to acquire a powerful magical item for your arsenal. The Staff is located in the Cave of Assu, on the slopes of Mount Kand North West of Molag Mar. If you look at your paper map, you'll find Mount Kand in the lower South East corner of the island. The quickest route is to grab a Silt Strider from Balmora to Suran and onto Molag Mar, then head North. Assu can be tricky to find since there's no nearby references and the land is very mountainous, but its basically just North and slightly West of Molag Mar, just North East of the Mount Kand's Caverns (position is 95750, -35900, 6700 using the console TDT command).

The caverns are not too large but contain a large amount of tough creatures including various Atronachs and Daedra (possibly depending on your level) along with two mages. The last mage, Ddreveni Hlaren, is level 20 and wields the Staff of Magnus and is difficult to take out, especially if she falls in the water. A levitate spell here is of great use. The mage casts several summon type spells and hits for a good amount with the staff. Once she's taken care, take the staff and look around for various treasures.

The Staff has the follow attributes:

The Staff of Magnus
Type: Blunt Weapon, Two Handed
Chop: 5 - 15
Slash: 1 - 10
Thrust: 5 - 15
Condition: 4000 / 4000
Weight: 10.0
Value: 210000
Cast When Used
Spell Absorption 25 to 50 pts for 60 secs on Self
Restore Health 1 pt for 60 secs on Self
Charge: 5700 / 5700
With an enchant skill of 64, it takes 524 points of charge per use.

Warlock's Ring
20 May 2002

Ajira in the Balmora guild will tell you about the Warlock's Ring once you reach the rank of Warlock or higher. This isn't a quest per-se, but merely a chance to acquire a powerful magical item for your arsenal. The Ring is is currently held by Vindamea Drethan in Ashirbadon, a cave on a small island East of the Ruins of Bal Fell, just East of the city of Vivec at the bottom of the map. Indeed, just head directly East from the ruins and it should be on the first island you reach (position 85800, -94500, 300).

The cave is small though filled with several tough creatures possibly including Atronachs, Dremora, and Daedroth. Vindamea is again a high level mage wielding the Warlock's Ring and can be tough to take out. Don't forget to check for treasure once you've killed her.

The Ring has the follow attributes:

The Warlock's Ring
Weight: 0.1
Value: 22000
Cast When Used
Reflect 10 to 20% for 30 secs on Self
Fortify Speed 10 to 20 pts for 30 secs on Self
Charge: 1240 / 1240
With an enchant skill of 64, it takes 114 points of charge per use.

Telvanni Recruitment
19 May 2002

This is the first quest offered by Ranis Athrys in the Balmora guild once you reach the rank of Journeyman. You are to recruit a Telvanni named Llarer Bereloth in Sulipund. Unfortunately, if you cannot convince him you must kill him. Ranis marks the stronghold of Marandas on your map, and Sulipund is just North of that Llarer is on the top level of Sulipund and initally refuses your requests to join the guild. You must raise his disposition considerably before he will agree to join (around 70). Upon returning to Ranis you are rewarded with 4 Quality Restore Magicka potions and a +10 disposition.

Guild Dues
19 May 2002

This is the first quest offered by Ranis Athrys in the Balmora guild once you reach the rank of Journeyman. You are to collect the guild dues from Manwe in Punabi. She hasn't paid in several years and now owes 2000 septims. If you cannot collect the dues, you must kill her. Ranis marks the stronghold of Marandas on your map, and Punabi is just North of that. Manwe is just inside the entrance to Punabi. She will agree to pay you the 2000 if her disposition is high enough (around 70). Upon returning to Ranis you are rewarded with 1000 gold (from the 2000 gold which Manwe gave you) and an increase in disposition.

Unsanctioned Training
19 May 2002

Ranis Athrys in the Balmora guild asks you to stop an Argonian in the South Wall Cornerclub from offering unsanctioned training in Restoration. The Argonian is in the basement of the Cornerclub and is easy to stop being the only Argonian around (Only-He-Stands-There). When you talk to him about his unsanctioned training, he suggests that you return to Ranis and tell her that he would stop, and he would offer his services to you. The only other options are to kill him or raise his disposition high enough to convince him to stop (around 60). Upon returning to Ranis you are rewarded with solely an increase in disposition.

Escorting Itermerel
19 May 2002

Ranis Athrys in the Balmora guild asks you escort the scholar Itermerel to Pelagiad, a ways South East of Vivec, just North of Seyda Neen. In addition, Ranis would also like you to retrieve a copy of Itermerel's notes for her to study. Itermerel is waiting for you at the Eight Plates in Balmora and wishes to be escorted to the Halfway Tavern in Pelagiad. As with any escort, keep an eye on him as during your escort. Once you reach the tavern he will stop following you automatically. Talk with him again to receive his notes for Ranis. Upon returning to Ranis you are rewarded with solely an increase in disposition.

Necromancy in Maar Gan
19 May 2002

Ranis Athrys in the Balmora guild believes that Tashpi Ashibael in Maar has been practicing necromancy and must be killed. Maar Gan is far North, past Ald'ruhn and can be reached on Silt Strider. When you confront Tashpi about being a necromancer, she seems rather surprised, though once you mentioned Ranis she seems to understand. Evidently Tashpi refused to join the mages guild and Ranis has held a grudge since then. Tashpi has not been performing necromancy, but acts as the local healer (which is also the story you'll hear if you ask the locals in town). Tashpi suggests that you let her go and she will disappear, and you are to tell Ranis that she is dead. Otherwise, the only other solution is to kill Tashpi. Upon returning to Ranis you are rewarded with an increase in disposition along with two scrolls of Elemental Burst:Fire, and two scrolls of The Forth Barrier.

Telvanni Spy
19 May 2002

Ranis Athrys in the Balmora guild believes that the Guild has been infiltrated by a Telvanni spy. You are to visit the Guild halls in Ald'ruhn, Vivec, and Sadrith Mora to find the spy and report back to Ranis. Of course, the logical thing would be to just grab the Guild teleporter, otherwise that's a lot of walking to do. In the Ald'ruhn guild, Edwinna Elbert seems to have no idea about the spy. In Sadrith Mora, Skink-in-Tree's-Shade does suspect there is a spy, but suggests to check in Vivec where the guild decisions are actually made. In Vivec, Trebonius Artorius denies the existence of spies, saying that his advisor Tiram Gadar keeps an eye out for that sort of thing. If you inquire further Trebonius will give you Tiram's credentials which at first glance appear a bit funny (Ocato's name is spelled wrong). Upon returning to Ranis with the phony credentials, you are rewarded with an increase in disposition, two scrolls of Summon Golden Saint and Soul Drinker a magical daedric dagger.

There's an alternate ending to the quest if you let Itermerel and Tashpi live. When you talk to Artorius report that Ranis Athrys is the spy and is kicked out of the guild, with you still getting credit for completing the quest.

Rare Dwemer Book
3 August 2003

Edwinna Elbert Athrys in the Ald'ruhn guild is looking for a rare Dwemer book Chronicles of Nehuleft. None of the Guild Halls has a copy and she gives you 250 gold to go out and buy one, suggesting she try a bookseller. The local bookshop owner suggests trying to find a copy in Vivec. You can find a copy in Jobasha's Rare Books in Vivec, Foreign Quarter Lower Waistworks (light green book valued at 250 gold). A copy can also be found in the library in the Hall of Wisdom, in the Temple area. Although you have to take it when the guards are not looking. You can also find the book on the shelves at Llarer Bereloth in Sulipund (visited in another mages guild quest actually). Yet another copy is in the Hall of Records in Vivec and another in Punabi on the shelf of a guy that you are supposed to get to join the guild or kill in another quest.

Upon returning to Edwinna with the book you are rewarded with an increase in disposition.

Includes Contributions from Steve Freespace, Dave, Mike Jackson, and Nekronaut.

Detect Creatures Potion
19 May 2002

Edwinna Elbert Athrys in the Ald'ruhn guild is waiting for a Detect Creatures Potion from Stink-in-Tree's-Shade in the Sadrith Mora Guild. All you need to do is grab a teleport over to the Sadrith Mora guild, get the potion and return. Upon returning to Edwinna with the potion you are rewarded with an increase in disposition and an Exclusive Potion of Shadow.

Borrow the Chimarvamidium
17 February 2004

Edwinna Elbert Athrys in the Ald'ruhn guild asks you to 'borrow' the book Chimarvamidium, the sixth volume of Morabar Sul's Ancient Tales of the Dwemer. Evidently Sirilonwe has acquired a copy of the book and Edwinna wants you to get it and bring it to her. She warns you that if you are caught stealing you will be expelled from the guild and gives you to open scrolls. Sirilonwe keeps the copy of the book in a locked (level 30) chest in her closet. If you open the lock with the closet door closed, you won't get caught. Do not speak to Sirilonwe when you have the book in your possession as she will notice and catch you.

Upon returning to Edwinna with the potion you are rewarded with an increase in disposition.

The Vivec Mages Guild has the only copy of the book in Morrowind. You can also find it as random loot if you are lucky enough. If you are playing on the PC version and need to give yourself the book use the console command:

player->additem, "BookSkill_Heavy Armor3, 1

Huleen's Hut
19 May 2002

Edwinna Elbert Athrys in the Ald'ruhn guild reports that there has been some sort of disturbance in Huleen's Hut in Maar Gan and wants you to check it out. You can't teleport up to Maar Gan and the fastest route is by Silt Strider. Huleen's hut is just East, outside of town. Once inside you find a single scamp which you should take care. Downstairs, in a locked room, you find an unclothed Listien Bierles, Huleen's apprentice. Apparently he summoned a scamp and lost control of it, causing the trouble. Upon returning to Edwinna with the news you are rewarded with an increase in disposition and two scrolls of the Fifth Barrier.

Return the Chimarvamidium
19 May 2002

Edwinna Elbert Athrys in the Ald'ruhn guild has finished that book which you previously 'borrowed' from the Vivec Guild Hall. Evidently the book was completely useless after all and she wants you to return the book from where you found it. All you have to do is place the book back in the chest in Sirilonwe's room. You can also return it directly to Sirilonwe if you want to come clean. Upon returning to Edwinna you are rewarded with an increase in disposition and two amulets of Divine and Almsivi Intervention.

Dwemer Tube
27 January 2003

Edwinna Elbert Athrys in the Ald'ruhn guild needs a Dwemer Tube in here research and wishes you to travel to Arkngthunch-Sturdumz to find one. The ruins are North West of Gnisis but you can also get there by travelling to Ald Velothi and following the coast to the West. If you happen to have a Dwemer Tube already, you can give that to Edwinna as any Dwemer Tube will do. You can find them in almost all Dwemer ruins (check the crates, chests, and barrels). You can also find them at Master Aryon's Dwemer Museum in Tel Vos. Upon returning to Edwinna with the tube you are rewarded with an increase in disposition.

Excavation Report
20 May 2002

Edwinna Elbert Athrys in the Ald'ruhn guild asks you to check on a colleague, Senilias Cadiusus, in the Dwemer ruin of Nehuleftingh as his last excavation report is long overdue. The ruins can be found a ways North East of Suran (which is in turn North East of Vivec). Once you arrive at the ruins, Senilias and his daughter are quickly found just inside. It appears they have been having problems and their guide, Anes Vendu, is missing. Since Anes was writing the report, you'll have to find him before you can return. Enter the Test of Pattern section to find three cranks along the North East Wall. Using the Eastmost one will open a door to the South revealing a door to the Lower Levels (the other ones are a trap and damage you). You'll find the corpse of Anes at the bottom of the Lower Level, next to two Dwemer robots (if you're quick you can grab the report and the book and run out without a fight). Upon returning to Edwinna with the report you are rewarded with an increase in disposition. Edwinna also thinks the book you found, Hanging Gardens, might be useful if you can find someone who knew Aldmeris.

Dwemer Blueprints
27 January 2003

Edwinna Elbert Athrys in the Ald'ruhn guild asks you to retrieve the plans of another Dwemer ruin, Mzuleft, South West of Dagon Fel far to the North. The quickest route is to teleport over to Sadrith Mora and grab a ship up to Dagon Fel. The ruin is just South West of town and should be marked on your map. There are some tough orcs guarding the ruins, but the plans are on a shelf (next to the ruin's key) in the room just right of the entrance, so you can just run in an grab it if you're careful. Although you aren't told about it, you should also find the book The Egg of Time, which is on a table in the room past the one with the plans, unfortunately with two more Orcs guarding it. You can also find them at Master Aryon's Dwemer Museum in Tel Vos.

Upon returning to Edwinna with the report you are rewarded with an increase in disposition. If you took the Dwemer book as well and mention it to Edwinna, she will tell you to go and talk to Hasphat Antabolis in the bottom of the Fighters Guild in Balmora.

Dwemer Ruins of Bethamez
27 January 2003

If you are of sufficient rank in the guild (Warlock or higher?) Edwinna Elbert Athrys in the Ald'ruhn guild asks you to retrieve the blueprints from the recently discovered Dwemer Ruins of Bethamez in the Gnisis Eggmine. The quickest route is to grab a Silt Strider up to Gnisis. The eggmine is just East of town, up on the ridge and it is locked (level 45) with a nearby Imperial Legion officer keeping watch. If you persuade him enough and talk to him about the Eggmine (ask him about Gnisis first), he will give you the key to the mine.

The first section of the mine is safe but once you enter the lower mine you are warned that you shouldn't be here. You can fight anything that challenges you, sneak around, or just run for the ruins entrance (which is around the corner West and North of where you enter). You may contract the Blight from anything you fight here, so a Cure Blight spell, potion, or scroll is helpful. Just inside the entrance to Bethamez you'll find the blueprints on a table, as well as another book Divine Metaphysics... which you should take. You can also find them at Master Aryon's Dwemer Museum in Tel Vos.

Upon returning to Edwinna with the report you are rewarded with an increase in disposition. If you show her the book she cannot seem to make any sense out of it.

Escort Tenyewinme
20 May 2002

Stink in the Sadrith Mora Guild Hall will offer you his first quest once you've completed Edwinna's Detect Creature Potion quest. Stink asks you to escort the scholar Tenyeminwe from the Muriel's Cornerclub to Gals Arethi's ship. The cornerclub is just across the bridge from the fort, and the docks are just to the North West. Upon returning to Stink you are rewarded with an increase in disposition.

Rare Vampire Book
20 May 2002

Skink in the Sadrith Mora Guild Hall asks you find a rare book for him, the Vampires of Vvardenfell. Apparently the first volume most rare booksellers should have, while the second volume is quite rare (of course, he wants the second volume). The only suggestion he gives you is to check the rare booksellers. You might also find out that the second volume is banned by the Temple, possibly the reason for its rarity. There are several places you can find a copy. One is in Jobasha's Rare Bookshop in Vivec, Foreign Quarter Lower Waistwork, for the low, low price of 400 gold (a large, dark red book). If you don't want to pay, you can also find one in the Hall of Justice secret Library, though the guards won't like you if they see you taking it. Yet another copy can be found in some vampire lairs (such as Galom Daeus). Whatever the method, when you return to Skink with the book you are rewarded with an increase in disposition and 1000 gold.

Arrange an Ashlander Meeting
20 May 2002

Skink in the Sadrith Mora Guild Hall asks you to arrange a meeting with a wise woman of one of the four Ashlander tribes: Urshilaku, Zainab, Erabenimsun, or the Ahemmusa. Skink doubts that the Erabenimsun will agree and suggests to start with the Ahemmusa. If you've gotten far in the main quest, you should know the location to all four camps (and they will be marked on your map). The Ahemmusa Camp is on the far North East corner of the island, North of Tel Vos (North West of Tel Mora). Sinnammu Mirpal, in the Wise Woman's Yurt in the Ahemmusa Camp, refuses to meet with Skink, but suggests her apprentice, Minabibi, in he Favel Tomb West of the camp past the Daedric ruins.

When you find Minabibi Assardarainat just inside the tomb, she agrees to meet with Skink but you must first kill the spirit of the tomb for her, the spirit of Kanit Ashurnisammis. Once you get rid of the spirit, Minabib tells you to return to Sinnammu to get permission for her to meet with Skink. Do so, noting that no matter what you say to Sinnammu, she will let Minabibi go. When you return to the Sadrith Mora guild hall, Minabibi is already there waiting for you. Talk to Skink to finish the quest and receive the usual an increase in disposition. Speak with Minabibi afterwards to receive an Ancestor's Ring (Summon Ancestral Ghost).

Telura the Necromancer
20 May 2002

Skink in the Sadrith Mora Guild Hall asks you take care of a former guild member that has turned to using Necromancy, tarnishing the 'good name' of the guild. Telura Ulver can be found in Shal, North of Hla Oad on the West coast, just North of the Daedric ruin. Shal is a small cave with an assortment of undead before you reach the main chamber with Telura, who will attack you on sight. She's a powerful mage but once her spells are used up she's not too tough. Don't forget to check around for treasure. Returning to Skink you are rewarded the usual an increase in disposition.

Ash Ghoul Soul
20 May 2002

If you've reached the rank of Wizard (7), Skink in the Sadrith Mora Guild Hall wants an Ash Ghoul soul for him to research. He gives you 2 Soul Capture scrolls and two Grand Soul gems for your task, and suggests checking in Yakin, a Sixth House cavern North West of Tel Aruhn, just West of Sadrith Mora on the mainland coast. The Ash Ghoul is a tough opponent that has a long nose and casts spells. Be sure you cast the Soul Trap spell in order to capture the soul, otherwise you might be searching a long while for another Ghoul to trap. Once the soul is trapped, return to Skink you are rewarded the usual an increase in disposition. If you only use one Grand Soul gem, you get to keep the other.

Galur Rithari's Papers
20 May 2002

Skink in the Sadrith Mora Guild Hall wants you to find a book on Vampires, Galur Rithari's Papers. The book allegedly describe how an Ordinator became a Vampire and was cured. Skink suggests to talk to booksellers (such as Jobashi in Vivec's Foreign Quarter) to get an idea on where to find a copy. There are several copies of the book available: in the Hall of Justice secret Library in Vivec, Galom Daeus, and Kagrenac's Library (Red Mountain within the Ghostfence).

The Secret Library in the Hall of Justice might seem the simplest but it is well locked (75 level) and well guarded, meaning you need to be an accomplished thief or don't mind a few fights and a bad record. The Library is entered via a half-hidden, locked door on the floor in one of the Justice Offices or Office of the Watch. Once inside, the book is a small, dark red book at the end of the middle shelf, closest to the Justice Offices entrance.

Kahrenac's Library is difficult to get to, being South West of the Red Mountain's Crater (but might be your best hope unless you know where Galom is found).

Returning to Skink with any of the copies you are rewarded the usual an increase in disposition and his Amulet. The Amulet is not magical but is worth 1000 gold (60 enchant points).

Disappearance of the Dwemer
20 May 2002

Trebonius Artorius in the Vivec Guild Hall will first ask you to investigate the disappearance of the Dwemer (or so misnamed as Dwarves). He doesn't seem to have a good idea on how to do this, though he suggests to speak with Edwinna at the Ald'ruhn guild.

In previous Mage Guild quests (Excavation Report, Dwemer Blueprints of Mzuleft, and Dwemer Ruins of Bethamez) you may (or should have) picked up three different books related to the Dwemer: Hanging Gardens, Egg of Time, and Divine Metaphysics. You may have also already talked with Hasphat Antabolis (bottom of the Balmora Fighters Guild) or Senilias Cadiusus (Dwemer ruin of Nehuleftingh, North East of Suran) who mention that Hanging Gardens may be a key to dechipering the other two books. Since this book is in Aldmeris, you still need to find someone who can read it.

Talk to Edwinna, Antabolis and the wizard Divayth Fyr about the books and you will be pointed to a fellow named Yagrum Bagarn (Divayth and Yagrum are related to the main quest and are found in Tel Fyr, South West of Sadrith Mora). Note that I couldn't get Edwinna or Antabolis to mention Divayth, Yagrum or Baladas (though Divayth does mention Yagrum, though not where he is until you are the correct point in the main quest). Baladas Demnevanni can be found in the tower in Gnisis (dome structure North West side of town). You may also be pointed towards a Telvanni sorcerer Baladas Demnevanni (unknown location?). Once you talk to them about the Disappearance of the Dwarves, the book will be translated for you. Yagrum can be found in the bowels of the Corprusarium deep beneath Tel Fyr. Although I visited Yagrum and talked to him about the three books and the disappearance of the Dwemer, the books were not translated for me (though he does give a very brief overview of each book, as well as going into detail about the disappearance).

At any rate, if you ever do translate the books, return to Trebonius for a large increase in disposition with him and the guild. Even though I didn't official get the books translated by Yagrum, I was still able to complete the quest.

Kill the Telvanni
20 May 2002

Trebonius Artorius in the Vivec Guild Hall will only give this quest to you if you have reached the rank of Warlock and finished the main quest. The request is simple, merely kill all of the Telvanni councillers (since you've done the main quest you should know where all of them are). A rather strange request, but hey, he's the boss (for now anyways). Unless you'd rather not kill them, there's no real downside to killing them all. The councillers in brief are:

  1. Master Aryon in Tel Vos (Upper Chamber)
  2. Mistress Dratha in the Upper Tower in Tel Mora
  3. Mistress Therana in the Upper Tower of Tel Branora
  4. Master Neloth in Tel Naga (Sadrith Mora)
  5. Master Baladas in Arvs-Drelen (Gnisis)
  6. Gothren in the Upper Tower of Tel Aruhn (probably already dead)
Of course these are all powerful mages and many of them well guarded, so its not an easy task, but one that you're probably up to at this point.

If you complete his request and return to Trebonius, he will reward you with his staff and Necromancer's Amulet.
