Hi, I recently got the Yellow Light of Death on my PS3 (which got the YLOD twice before). I tried to apply the reflow fix, and it seemingly worked, although there was no video displayed on my TV. After turning off the PS3, I tried to turn it on again, but the YLOD returned. Panicking, I restarted the PS3, and it was able to turn on for 10 seconds before reverting to the YLOD. Since then, none of my attempts at turning on the PS3 worked. I have attempted to reflow it two more times to no avail.

I don't know what is causing the YLOD, because I'm sure that the solder has reformed. I have a strong feeling that the power supply must have malfunctioned, so I'm going to ask my friend if I can borrow his old PS3's power supply. Or has my PS3 simply kicked the bucket?

Late here, and not an expert with consoles. All I can offer is a quick look at PS3 problems, and it indicates that mostly these problems come from overheating. Vacuum cleaner? If it sounds stupid it may be because it... may be stupid.

Best of luck. :)
